This position serves as the subject matter expert for the clinic and orthopaedic department in assigned specialty. Those specialties include and are not limited to: Epic Systems Mastery, Athletic Trainer Onboarding and Training, and Quality, CEU Development, and Sports Partners support. This position also encompasses the essential functions as the Athletic Trainer, Advanced.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Athletic Trainer Onboarding, Training, and CEU Development:
- Primarily responsible for athletic trainer onboarding and training.
- Participate in athletic trainer interviews and selection.
- Develop and maintain onboarding, training program and materials for athletic trainers.
- Mentor Clinic Athletic Trainers.
- Set Athletic Training yearly goals.
- Athletic Trainer Onboarding, Training, and CEU Development.
- Primarily responsible for athletic trainer onboarding and training.
- Participate in athletic trainer interviews and selection.
Epic Systems Mastery:
- Super user and expert in Epic for the clinic.
- Assists with orienting staff to Epic and providing training and information on system upgrades.
- Assists providers, residents and fellows with Epic optimization.
Quality, CEU Development, and Sports Partners support:Responsible for CEU development.
- Support quality initiatives throughout the clinic.
- Assist the field Manager in coordinating high school, collegiate, and professional coverage when needed.
- Liaison between University of Utah Athletic Trainer program and the University of Utah Orthopaedic Clinic.
- Coordinates/tracks Athletic Trainer outreach hours.
- Work closely with leadership to ensure culture.
- Participate in leadership meetings and tasks when applicable.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required
- Master's degree in a related field or equivalent.
Licenses Required
- Current licensure to practice as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Utah.
- Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedics (BCS-O)
- Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications (Preferred)
Preferred
- Experience as an athletic trainer in a university outpatient orthopaedic clinic setting.
- Completion of an Athletic Training Fellowship/Residency or three years of outpatient clinic experience in an orthopaedic practice as an athletic trainer.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands

- This position involves intensive work that may exert up to 100 pounds and may consistently requiring lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects, such as medical equipment, or patients while providing medical care.
