About this role
General purpose and scope of position: The Director of Testing, Tutoring, and Library Services will oversee academic student support services for the campus. The Director will be responsible for the day-to-day administration tutoring center and library services and will directly supervise the testing center. The Director is responsible for maintaining set standards of exam administration and security procedures within the Testing Center and promoting library services and information literacy activities on and off-campus. The Director will establish and maintain relationships with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Enrollment Services, Career Link, and other departmental staff, faculty, testing vendors, partners and other stakeholders as appropriate.
Major Responsibilities:
Leadership:
· Demonstrate a strong customer service and/or student advocacy through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem-solving and desire to identify and support student success.
· Engage in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued and supported.
· Go beyond the easiest or surface answer for a student, or an internal or external customer, and get to the root cause of the problem, question or issue to solve it as quickly and professionally as possible.
- Hire, train, supervise, develop, and evaluate staff.
- Develop and manage budgets, oversee purchasing, and generate reports.
- Be able to step in when staff are unavailable in any of the three support areas.
- Articulate a vision and advocate for the ongoing development of the testing center, tutoring, and library services.
- Develop, implement, and assess strategic goals for each of the areas of oversight.
· Communicate and market services to internal audiences.
· Explore opportunities and make recommendations to leadership on ways to add/expand services to meet student and community needs.
· Represent assessment, tutoring, and the library on appropriate academic and professional committees, boards, etc. at the regional, state, and national level.
· Participate in training as necessary to stay abreast of appropriate technical areas.
Testing Center Administration
· Directly supervise the Testing Services Manager
· Ensure record keeping and reporting of center activity meets compliance of policy.
· Measure and maximize Center capacity. Ensure that appropriate equipment is available for the administration and security of exam administration.
· Management group discussions and attendance at statewide meetings.
· Stay abreast of knowledge about academic assessments, certifications and exam providers.
· Train to be available as occasional backup, temporary proctor when needed.
Tutoring Center Administration:
· Directly supervise all tutoring center staff, to include training and developing tutors
· The Director will be expected to tutor in content area of expertise for a minimum of three hours per week
· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the tutoring center, including scheduling, data-collection, and facilitating relationships between tutors and faculty
Library Services Administration:
- Directly supervise all staff, to include training and developing staff
- Supervise the selection and evaluation of library collections appropriate for the academic curriculum and related needs of Ivy Tech students, staff, faculty, and community constituencies.
- Provide leadership in information technology issues in close collaboration with peers in technology, distance learning, and instruction.
- Provide leadership for the integration of Information Literacy into the curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Master’s degree in a relevant field.
· Three (3) years related experience in one or more of the following areas: testing centers, information management, resource management, training, or education.
· Working knowledge of computers is essential.
· Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Supervisory and management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Computer knowledge including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, library automation systems, online database products, and Internet resources
· Ability to effectively lead and manage change

Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal course work or training directly related to testing/assessment, tutoring, or library services.
- Higher education experience.
- Five years of administrative and supervisory experience.
- Five years of increasingly responsible administrative experience at a community college or post-secondary academic institution.
Work Hours: May occasionally include some evening or weekend hours to meet student and Campus needs.
Salary: The annual salary for this position is $66,100.
