POSITION OVERVIEW: Advanced Practice Provider:
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered medical care within the scope of their education, training, licensure, certification, privileges, and applicable state and federal requirements.
The APP evaluates patients, develops diagnoses and treatment plans, orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic studies, manages medications, provides patient education, coordinates care, and collaborates with physicians and other members of the healthcare team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Advanced Practice Provider (APP) are expected to:
Patient Care
- Conduct comprehensive and focused patient evaluations, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations.
- Assess acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Develop appropriate differential diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Order, review, and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic tests within the APP's authorized scope of practice.
- Prescribe and manage medications and other therapies as permitted by applicable law, licensure, credentialing, and organizational policy.
- Perform appropriate clinical procedures based on training, demonstrated competency, and granted privileges.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and modify care plans when clinically appropriate.
- Recognize changes in a patient's condition and initiate appropriate interventions, consultations, referrals, or escalation of care.
- Provide preventive care, health screenings, and health-promotion services as appropriate.
- Refer patients to specialists and other healthcare professionals when indicated.
Patient Education & Communication
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, preventive care, and follow-up recommendations.
- Communicate medical information in a professional, compassionate, and understandable manner.
- Encourage patient participation and shared decision-making in the plan of care.
- Respond appropriately to patient questions and clinical concerns.
Documentation & Care Coordination
- Accurately and timely document assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, procedures, patient education, and follow-up instructions in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Review and appropriately respond to laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic results.
- Coordinate patient care with physicians, nursing staff, medical assistants, pharmacies, laboratories, specialists, hospitals, and other healthcare partners.
- Maintain continuity of care through appropriate follow-up and communication.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Provide care consistent with professional standards, organizational policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Follow infection prevention, medication safety, patient identification, and other established clinical safety practices.
- Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational privacy and security policies.
- Participate in quality-improvement, patient-safety, peer-review, and clinical-performance activities as assigned.
- Maintain required licensure, certifications, continuing education, and any credentials or privileges required for the position.
- Remain current on evidence-based clinical practices relevant to the patient population served.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current, unrestricted RN and APRN/NP authorization or licensure required by the state of practice.
- Appropriate national certification for the population and clinical role.
- Current prescriptive authority, including controlled-substance authority when required for assigned responsibilities.
- Current DEA registration when required by the position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an NP or PA.
- Experience in an outpatient/ambulatory medical practice.
- Experience managing complex or chronic medical conditions.
- Strong patient education and care-coordination skills.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to obtain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card during background check process. (Required)
- Current BLS certification.
- Additional ACLS, PALS, or specialty certification when required by the patient population or clinical setting.
- Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentialing and clinical privileges.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) preferred.
- Previous experience in an outpatient, primary care, specialty, or ambulatory healthcare setting preferred.
- Demonstrated experience independently evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and managing acute and chronic medical conditions within the provider’s authorized scope of practice.
- Experience ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and diagnostic studies.
- Experience prescribing and managing medications in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and clinical privileges.
- Experience providing patient education, preventive care, and ongoing disease-management support.
- Experience documenting patient encounters accurately and efficiently using an electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Experience coordinating referrals, follow-up care, and continuity of care with specialists and outside healthcare organizations.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations and providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Prior experience in [specific specialty, such as Primary Care, Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or HIV care] is highly desirable.
Required skills, knowledge, and abilities
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Strong communication skills; comfortable engaging diverse groups and individuals.
- Understanding of basic STI and HIV terminology and sexual health language.
- Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to reducing stigma.
- Strong communication skills, cultural competence and a non-judgmental attitude, treating all patients with respect and dignity, regardless of background or identity.
- Able to comply with HIPAA Regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
Compensation/Benefits/Total Rewards:
- Salary Range $140,000 - $160,000
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, eligible on the first day of the month following your start date.
- Company-Paid Life Insurance Policy of $50,000.

- 403(b) Plan with a 3% company match, eligible after first pay period.
- CME Allowance
Paid Time Off:
- 120 hours of Vacation time, 4.62 hours accrued bi-weekly starting date of hire. Available to use after the first day of employment.
- 1 week, 40 hours of Paid Sick Leave accrued bi-weekly starting date of hire. Available to use after the first day of employment.
- 9 annual paid holidays.
- You are also entitled to carry over 80 hours of PTO into the following calendar year.
