Introduction

We are looking for a creative Electronics Engineer to join an exciting and dynamic team in designing, developing, testing, and troubleshooting complex avionics packages.

Location: This position does not support teleworking. You will need to live near our Lockheed Martin Space facility and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

What does this role look like?

• As an Lead Avionics Responsible System Engineer you will lead and coordinate technical design development, own component production, delivery, and all aspects of engineering closeouts (Discrepancy Reports; End-Item Data Packages, Material Review Board, Failure Review Board, etc.) and coordinate with suppliers as required.

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

• Is a technical advocate for the TMK2 system, as the TMK2 RSE, for major reviews (SRR/PDR/CDR), and participates in critical production, critical TMK2 design decisions and alteration activities to support overall TMK2 development.
• Integration efforts into Strategic Weapon Facility operations and capabilities to support new fleet deployments including Columbia and Dreadnought class SSBNs.
• Has an understanding of program-unique and Space command media which ensures the TMK2 system meets technical requirements throughout the lifecycle.
• Leads the technical integrity of the TMK2 system.
• Is a technical expert who maintains a understanding of the TMK2 system and supports compliance with LE2 product certifications at the system level.
• Supports the FBM Chief Engineer/Executive CPE (ECPE) relating to coordination and integration with missile product RSEs/CPEs and delegates.

This position requires the ability to obtain a DOD Top Security clearance. US Citizenship required.

To be effective in this role, you will need:

• Experience as a technical lead or responsible engineer.
• Experience supporting the technical evaluation of design and requirements verification.
• Experience in different phases of aerospace hardware development cycle.
• Experience interacting with peers, management and government customers.
• Experience in presentations and in written communication skills.
• 8+ years professional experience.
• Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance, thus you are a US Citizen.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university
* Prior professional experience with electrical hardware design or a closely related discipline.
* Deep expertise across multiple electrical engineering domains, that could include:
* Electrical hardware design for development and production phases in aerospace or a similar industry
* Complex electrical schematics for circuit card assemblies (CCA), harnesses, and system-level interconnects
* Root-cause analysis and corrective action for hardware failures
* Must be a US Citizen; must be able to obtain/maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance

Desired Skills

* Demonstrated experience leading the development of a product or capability from concept through development, qualification, and transition to production
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to brief executive leadership, customers, and non-technical audiences
* Demonstrated ability to lead IPT efforts across multiple concurrent programs, present to program leadership and government customers, and manage multiple priorities
* Active DoD Secret or Top-Secret clearance
* Experience leading IRAD/CRAD programs
* Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field
* Cross-Business Area engagement and large-program technical-lead experience
* Experience transitioning PCB/PWB designs into circuit card assemblies
* Experience supporting proposal development, including technical volume authoring, basis-of-estimate, and competitive technical strategy on major hardware captures
* Exceptional communication skills — ability to professionally communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy to executive audiences
* Experience with missile systems or hypersonic weapon systems across a program portfolio
* Project management skillsets including leadership, planning/organization, risk management, and financial acumen at the program level
* Successful proposal/capture leadership experience (BOE, technical volume authoring, technical strategy) on major hardware programs
* Demonstrated ability to lead technical investigations to determine root cause of hardware failures
* Demonstrated effectiveness as a “player/coach” working with minimal supervision in fast-paced, multi-program environments
* Strong mentoring track record with early and mid-career engineers
* Experience with supplier management
* Application of lessons learned and process improvement methodologies

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $145100.00 - $269500.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
