Description

This Senior VM role owns the P&L and partner relationships for the Personal Computers (PC) category serving business customers. This is a dedicated Amazon Business role: you will own the commercial PC portfolio end to end and serve as a vertical lead for Amazon Business within PC. You will manage some of the most important hardware manufacturers and OEM partners in the business, working across their commercial product lines and spanning inventory management, marketing, merchandising, pricing, operations, and finance to drive the performance of those partners for the business customer.

You will own business results across the vendors and categories you manage. Your direct responsibility is to run the commercial product portfolio end to end: building vendor relationships, negotiating terms and contracts, growing selection, leading promotional strategies, planning inventory forecasts, developing marketing programs, improving sales and margin, and delivering an best in class experience for Amazon Business customers in a fast moving category defined by rapid product refresh cycles and evolving specifications.

The successful candidate brings a broad retail skill set and the judgment to apply it across many facets of the business. You will deliver at both the strategic and tactical level, innovate past obstacles, and build toward profitable long term growth. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at every level of the organization.

Key job responsibilities
1. Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets by executing annual and ongoing vendor negotiations;
2. Maintain a thorough understanding of the PC and hardware industry, business trends, and events, continually monitoring both industry and competitor developments including product refresh cycles, form factor shifts, and configuration dynamics;
3. Maximize Amazon's business and financial profitability through selection optimization, lifecycle management, and expansion opportunities;
4. Own selection management and industry analysis for the category: identify selection gaps and opportunities against the needs of Amazon Business customers, onboard and curate the right commercial product assortment, and translate market, competitor, and business customer insights into decisions that grow the business and improve the customer experience;
5. Build vendor and brand relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for vendor selection, onboarding, escalations, and negotiations;
6. Coordinate across cross functional teams and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, all while meeting tight deadlines;
7. Own a complete understanding, inclusive of the strategic context, of the internal and external variables that impact your business; this includes owning forecasting, analyzing, understanding, and reporting on the business.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
- Experience using data to influence business decisions
- Experience with business analysis and P&L management

- MBA

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
