About June's
June's All Day is a neighborhood cafe and bar on bustling South Congress Avenue. We serve breakfast, brunch and all-day bistro dishes from morning coffee and pastries until late in the evening, complemented by a frequently changing wine and bar program.
Inside, a long marble bar, cozy banquette seating and a vintage jukebox set the mood; outside, our dog-friendly patio is made for people watching. It's lively, warm and a little bit Parisian, and every guest should leave with a memorable experience and a reason to come back.
The Role
The Service Manager runs the front of house during service and owns the guest experience from door to check. You'll lead servers, bartenders, hosts, bussers and food runners on the floor, and work alongside the General Manager on hiring, training, scheduling and standards.
This is a hands-on role. On a busy service you'll be touching tables, running food, jumping behind the host stand and solving problems before guests notice them. You will report to the General Manager.
What You'll Do
Lead service
- Run the floor as manager on duty for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Lead pre-shift meetings covering specials, wine and bar changes, VIPs, large parties and service focus points.
- Manage the flow of the room with the host team: reservations, waitlist, table turns, patio and bar seating.
- Check in on tables, handle guest feedback in the moment and turn problems into return visits.
- Keep front and back of house in sync, communicating closely with the kitchen on timing, 86s and allergies.
Build the team
- Recruit, interview and onboard FOH staff with the General Manager.
- Train and coach servers, bartenders, hosts, bussers and runners on steps of service, menu knowledge and June's standards.
- Give regular, specific feedback and help team members grow into new roles.
- Write and manage weekly FOH schedules within labor targets.
Run the business
- Open and close the restaurant, including cash handling, tip reporting and end-of-day reports.
- Monitor labor, comps and voids, and help hit sales and cost goals.
- Support the beverage team on wine and bar inventory and ordering as needed.
- Uphold health, safety, TABC and sanitation standards and keep the restaurant inspection-ready.
- Maintain the dining room, patio and bar so they always look the part.
What You Bring
- 2+ years of front-of-house management or supervisory experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
- A genuine love of hospitality and a calm, upbeat presence when the room is full and the waitlist is long.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of training and developing a team.
- Working knowledge of wine, cocktails and food; interest in French bistro fare is a plus.
- Comfort with POS and reservation systems (e.g. Toast, OpenTable or similar), scheduling tools and basic P&L concepts.
- TABC and Texas Food Handler certifications, or the ability to get them before your start date.
- Availability for early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for a full shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
Nice to have: a sommelier or Cicerone certification, or bilingual English/Spanish.
