SUMMARY
The Shop Team Member serves as a welcoming and knowledgeable representative of the Victory Shop, providing excellent service while supporting the mission of Victory Church. This role assists customers with product selection, answers questions about books and gifts, operates the point-of-sale system, and maintains an organized, inviting store environment. The associate is expected to interact with customers in a Christ-like manner, offering help, kindness, and respect, while working collaboratively with the team to support daily operations and ministry goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, helpful service
- Assist customers with locating and selecting books, gifts, and resources
- Operate the point-of-sale system accurately, including cash and card transactions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment
- Stock shelves, receive inventory, and assist with merchandising displays
- Answer customer questions in person, by phone, or email as needed
- Handle returns and exchanges according to store policies
- Support bookstore events, promotions, and special sales
- Work collaboratively with team members and leadership
- Represent the mission and values of the Christian bookstore in all interactions
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous customer service or retail experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and team members
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn point-of-sale systems
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work scheduled shift

- Physical exertion such as standing, bending, stooping, crouching, lifting and reaching; and walk a short to long distances.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
- Scheduling may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, church services, and special events based on ministry and operational needs.
