Become a Senior Manager, Hydroelectric Licensing & Regulatory Compliance at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll lead the team responsible for Hydropower licensing, regulatory compliance, permitting, and high-impact relationships with agencies including FERC, the State Water Resources Control Board, the U.S. Forest Service, and other federal and state partners. This role integrates complex regulatory requirements into operational and capital plans, advises senior leaders on risk and strategy, and ensures commitments are tracked and delivered across SCE’s hydroelectric portfolio.

Responsibilities
- Maintains relationships with key players within the energy sector, including policy makers, regulatory agencies, and industry participants.
- Develops and integrates appropriate regulatory controls within systems and processes.
- Manages and oversees a list of contracts, grants, and cooperative agreements.
- Represents the organization's best interest through input to consultation processes.
- Builds relationships with relevant regulators, energy infrastructure operators, exchanges and relevant counterparties through active participation in consultation processes, regulatory enquiries and industry forums.
- Oversees regulatory compliance, administration, tariffs, and terms and conditions of service.
- Develops and implements regulatory strategies and policies that support business strategies.
- Manages and engages with relevant agencies and participates in policymaking processes.
- Manages external counsel and consultants as necessary to achieve policy objectives aligned to the company's objectives.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
- Experience with regulatory filings, proceedings, compliance, administration, tariffs, and/or terms and conditions of service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Environmental Management, Public Policy, Engineering, Natural Resources, or a related discipline.
- Eight or more years’ experience in utility, hydropower, regulatory affairs, environmental compliance, or a related field, including leadership of teams or major programs.
- Experience with FERC-regulated hydroelectric projects, including license implementation, relicensing, compliance reporting, and U.S. Forest Service requirements.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory and permitting processes applicable to hydropower, including FERC, NEPA/CEQA, Clean Water Act Section 401, and resource-agency consultation.
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and cross-functional partners through complex, high-impact regulatory matters and negotiations.
- Experience developing compliance controls, tracking regulatory commitments, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Experience managing capital and O&M budgets, contracts, forecasts, and long-range work plans for complex regulatory or infrastructure programs.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at Big Creek, CA.
- Position will require up to 20% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
