Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Specialty Pharmacy Liaison, you will partner with providers, clinical staff, and insurance payers to coordinate the care of complex patients so they can receive their high-dollar medications on time and at an affordable cost.
Every day you will manage the intensive patient care process, serving as the primary point of contact for patients undergoing treatment for serious, life-threatening conditions such as transplant, HIV, multiple sclerosis, and cancer.
You will be expected to act as a dedicated advocate and bridge between providers, pharmacies, billing departments, social services, and patient communities to drive exceptional customer service and ensure a seamless continuum of care. You will utilize specialized tools and applications to increase prescription capture, improve medication adherence, and maximize patient retention, while actively encouraging patients and clinic staff to utilize our pharmacy’s superior care services.
To be successful in this role, you must possess strong clinical coordination skills, deep knowledge of pharmacy billing and insurance authorization processes, and the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder relationships to ensure positive patient health outcomes.
Job Requirements
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- 4-5 years as a pharmacy technician
- Combination of education and related experience may be considered
Preferred Education and Experience
- Graduate of ASHP accredited pharmacy technician program
- Associate's degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
- 5-8 years as a Pharmacy Technician plus specialty pharmacy experience
Required Licensure and Certifications
- PHARM TECH: WA; and CPT-EXCPT; or CPT-PTCB; or CPHT - within 36 Months
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
- Technician Licensure : Additional licensure as a pharmacy technician in the state(s) assigned as required.
- Skills : strong interpersonal communication skills, strong phone skills, highly proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Word; able to quickly learn other programs and able to extract relevant information; strong organizational skills a must
- Traits : Organized, high-integrity, attention to detail, dependable, quality focus, empathetic, good listener/communicator
- Other : energetic, highly motivated, team player with strong personal and communication skills; discretion and confidentiality essential as position deals with highly sensitive and private data
- Specialties : Knowledge of complex/chronic diseases states and therapies used within specialty pharmacy including and up to: Oncology, Transplant, Hepatitis C, Infectious Disease (including HIV), Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, GI disorders (including IBD), Asthma and Allergies and Psoriasis
