Job Description:
The Human Resources Director – APAC provides strategic HR leadership across the Asia-Pacific region. Partnering closely with business leaders and global HR teams, this role drives talent development, employee engagement, workforce planning, compliance, and culture to support business growth and performance. The successful candidate brings strong business acumen, relationship-building skills, sound judgment, and the ability to guide organizational change in a complex, multi-country environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership
- Develop and implement the APAC people strategy aligned with business objectives, workforce priorities, and regional growth plans.
- Partner with business leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, and transformation initiatives to achieve business and workforce goals.
- Serve as a trusted advisor with regional leaders and influence decisions through business insight, data, and sound judgment. Provide strategic guidance on talent, employee relations, organizational effectiveness, and people-related risks.
- Ensure global HR programs are effectively adapted to local business and regulatory requirements.
Talent Management & Development
- Lead workforce planning, performance management, succession planning, and talent review processes to ensure a strong pipeline of future leaders and critical talent.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to attract, retain, and develop high-performing and diverse talent across the region.
- Support leadership development, career growth, internal mobility, and learning initiatives that strengthen organizational capability.
- Partner with Total Rewards to maintain competitive, equitable, and market-aligned compensation practices that support retention and performance.
Employee Experience & Culture
- Foster an inclusive, high-performing culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, wellbeing, accountability, and belonging.
- Lead engagement initiatives and action planning that improve employee experience, retention, and overall organizational effectiveness. Advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging strategies across APAC.
- Support cultural alignment, leadership effectiveness and workforce engagement during periods of growth, integration, and organizational change.
- Promote open communication, continuous feedback, and strong leadership practices throughout the organization.
Employee Relations, Compliance & Operations
- Oversee employee relations matters with fairness, discretion, and sound judgment, while maintaining positive workplace outcomes. Partner with Legal and business leaders on investigations, grievances, and workplace concerns.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies across APAC and proactively mitigate people-related risks.
- Oversee HR operations, HR systems, payroll governance, mobility, and employee lifecycle processes to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery. Leverage people analytics and continuous improvement practices to enhance decision-making, operational effectiveness, and business outcomes.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the APAC HR team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, inclusion, and continuous learning.
- Strengthen partnerships among regional and global HR teams and global centers of expertise to deliver consistent HR support and solutions.
- Develop a highly engaged, capable, and effective HR team that is equipped to support the region's evolving business needs. Model integrity, ethical decision-making, and confidentiality in all employee and business interactions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including regional or multi-country responsibility across APAC.
- Experience leading HR teams within multinational, matrixed organizations.
- Expertise in talent management, organizational development, employee relations, change management, and HR operations.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compensation practices, workforce planning, and HR compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and lead through change.
