Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a Cost Manager (MEP) to support the delivery of cost management services for major construction projects, including data centres, mission-critical facilities, industrial developments, and large-scale commercial projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering both pre-contract and post-contract cost management services across MEP packages, providing cost advice, procurement support, commercial management, and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams while contributing to the successful delivery of complex and high-value developments.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Management

- Prepare cost plans, estimates, budgets, and cost reports throughout various stages of project delivery.
- Support feasibility studies, benchmarking exercises, and value engineering initiatives.
- Monitor project budgets and provide commercial advice to support decision-making.
- Identify cost risks, opportunities, and change impacts throughout the project lifecycle.

Procurement & Tendering

- Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and procurement strategies.
- Manage tender evaluations, commercial assessments, and contract award recommendations.
- Review and analyse contractor and supplier submissions.
- Support procurement and commercial negotiations where required.

Post-Contract Services

- Manage project costs, variations, and change control processes.
- Review payment applications, cost forecasts, and final accounts.
- Prepare regular commercial and financial reports for clients and stakeholders.
- Support contract administration and commercial management activities during project delivery.

Stakeholder Management

- Work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
- Participate in project meetings, cost reviews, and commercial discussions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key project stakeholders.
- Deliver clear and accurate commercial advice to support project objectives.

Project Delivery & Team Support

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects within approved budgets and commercial targets.
- Support senior team members in managing complex MEP packages and interfaces.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, continuous improvement initiatives, and best practices within the team.

Qualifications

- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction Management , or related discipline.
- 5-8 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or Commercial Management.
- Professional accreditation (e.g. MRICS or equivalent ) is preferred.
- Experience delivering MEP packages within a consultancy, contractor, or client-side environment.
- Experience in data centres, industrial facilities, semiconductor facilities, healthcare, commercial developments, or mission-critical projects will be highly advantageous.
