Team Overview
The Asian ex Japan Equities team at Schroders is dedicated to delivering long-term and sustainable investment performance for a diverse range of clients. Based across key financial hubs in the Asia-Pacific region, our team combines deep local expertise with a disciplined global perspective.
We employ a rigorous, research-driven investment approach, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative analysis. Our investment process emphasises collaboration, integrity, and a commitment to responsible investing, integrated with Schroders’ robust ESG framework.
The team works closely with colleagues across the organisation—including portfolio managers, research analysts, and client-focused professionals—to provide insightful market analysis and support innovative investment solutions.
Overview of Role
As part of the Asian Equity team, the Investment Product Analyst role is based in Singapore. The role will partner closely with fund managers and act as a bridge between our Asian Equities Investment team and Client Group, proactively engaging with client teams and other internal and external stakeholders to provide product expertise across the range of Asian Equity strategies managed by the desk. The position is embedded within the Asian Equity Team, and is a regular participant in investment desk meetings, portfolio review sessions, and risk discussions, contributing analysis and insights that support informed investment decision-making of investors. The role will also play an important part in supporting the investment desk through portfolio analytics, performance analysis, and the generation of portfolio and research insights to facilitate risk and governance discussions with fund managers and research analysts.
Job responsibilities include preparing performance and risk analytics for regular portfolio discussions, developing product materials and investment commentaries for client engagement, and tracking market trends and peer performance. This role will also partner with Investors and Client Group on business development opportunities and will involve client-facing activities and presentations. In addition, the role will assist with account management for local and international clients whose equity accounts are managed by our investors in Hong Kong and Singapore, with the goal of delivering a positive client experience and supporting the longevity and profitability of client accounts and mandates.

Key Responsibilities
Investment & Portfolio Analytics Support
- Provide analytics support to the investment desk and help drive informed risk-taking by fund managers through enhanced portfolio analytics, performance analysis, and research insight.
- Generate portfolio and research insights to support investment, risk, and governance discussions with fund managers and research analysts, helping to inform portfolio positioning and decision-making.
- Prepare concise information packs and analysis for fund manager strategy meetings to facilitate idea generation and information exchange across the investment desk.
- Provide bespoke analysis and develop tools, dashboards, and reports that offer more holistic views of portfolios and strategies, regular investment insight, monitoring and decision support.
- Prepare analysis and portfolio insight for regular investment meetings, collaborate with the risk and analytics team to conduct strategy deep dives for selected strategies, helping fund managers understand key performance drivers and identify potential areas of concentration risk in portfolios.
- Provide top-down, risk, and style perspectives to help fund managers understand the combined impact of bottom-up investment decisions on overall strategy outcomes and portfolio risk.
- Assist in implementing investment desk and research initiatives that improve idea generation, information sharing, and research efficiency across the Asian Equities platform.
- Support the rollout and embedding of investment research and workflow tools across the Asian Equities desk, ensuring desk requirements are represented and disruption to day-to-day investment activity is minimised.
- Translate portfolio positioning, investment decisions, and performance outcomes into client ‑ facing materials, databases and general information on the Asian Equities product suite.
- Ensure all Asian Equities product presentations and fund updates are produced with high quality for distribution to sales channels.
- Prepare investment reports and support discussions that explain investment rationale, portfolio changes, performance and market developments, and act as a conduit for other internal subject matter experts where relevant.
- Collect and analyse comparative advantages among major peers and determine product niche as part of competitor analysis.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders on legal, compliance and operational aspects of funds and client portfolios - this includes coordination on matters pertaining to investment management agreements, investigation and follow-up on trade compliance matters, client instructions on funding and withdrawals.
- Ensure RFPs are completed with the highest standards possible and tailored to clients’ needs
- Embrace a technical approach to client service and reporting, with a focus on providing of high quality, thoughtful advice and service.
Product & Client Support
Equities Business Management and Development
- Participate in formulating overall business strategy including market landscape, competitor analysis, potential growth opportunities and developing actionable plans for the Asian Equities product suite.
- Streamline existing work processes and establish best practices for the Asian Equities platform in Asia.
- Work closely with the entire Public Equities platform to contribute to the business growth of the business within Asia.
- Assist with Schroders client events and new business pitches with Investment Directors, portfolio managers, client group representatives and stakeholders, and where required, in client reviews and conference calls with clients and prospects.
- Fronting and presenting to select client audiences directly to deliver investment narratives and messages for Asian equity strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g. CFA or equivalent) are advantageous
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience within the asset management industry, preferably with a focus on Asian equities
- Strong understanding of public equities investment strategies, products, and the broader Asian (ex Japan) markets
- Demonstrable experience in product management, product development, investment analysis, or similar roles within asset management
- Proven ability to clearly articulate investment strategies, processes, and performance to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare compelling client materials and reports
- Effective project management and organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Collaborative and proactive team player, comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Fluency in English; additional Asian languages are advantageous
