About this role

Description

Prime Video reaches hundreds of millions of customers across more than 240 countries and territories, offering the broadest selection of movies and TV shows — all on demand, at any time, on any device. As we continue to grow, understanding what our customers want to watch next is at the heart of everything we do.

The Prime Video APAC Programming & Insights team is looking for an Consumer Insights Manager to lead customer-focused primary and secondary research projects across the region. In this role, you will serve as a center of customer voice for Prime Video in APAC — working closely with cross-functional stakeholder teams to shape customer-obsessed content and business strategies. You will partner with regional counterparts to build a strong insights foundation, establish scalable research mechanisms, and deliver actionable insights that inform decisions on a daily basis.
This role is based in Sydney and primarily owns the audience insights roadmap for Australia/New Zealand and Southeast Asia, while also contributing to wider APAC Insights initiatives.

This role requires independent ownership of research deliverables. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience across a wide range of consumer research methodologies — both quantitative and qualitative. They will have robust experience creating strategic, actionable business recommendations from complex datasets, and hands-on expertise managing primary customer research studies and navigating stakeholder needs. They will skillfully manage multiple competing priorities to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of research, and thrive as a self-starter in environments of change and ambiguity.

Key job responsibilities
• Own end-to-end management of bespoke and streamlined consumer research projects — from ideation through delivery — including writing RFPs and questionnaires, analyzing primary and secondary data, and reporting results to stakeholders.
• Lead in-depth studies and conduct meta-analyses to produce consolidated learnings that support mid- and long-term business strategy.
• Design and implement scalable research mechanisms that ensure consistent insights delivery, contextualized with broader entertainment industry trends.
• Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams across Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, partnering with stakeholders to design consumer-focused research plans aligned with business goals.
• Collaborate on internal team initiatives to standardize best practices, streamline processes, and enhance impact.
• Contribute to the team's operational planning, including roadmap prioritization and resource coordination.

A day in the life
Your days will be varied — you might start by hosting a kickoff call to align on the scope of an upcoming research study with cross-functional teams, then review and respond to an ad-hoc audience insights and data request. By midday, you could be attending an org-level business review to provide audience inputs on emerging business questions at both service and title levels. Afternoons might focus on analyzing ongoing streamlined study data and writing a full report with rigorous analysis accompanied by actionable recommendations. Throughout it all, you will balance operational precision with strategic thinking across multiple studies and initiatives concurrently running at different phases across Business Planning, Content, Marketing, and Programming — and represent and advocate for the Prime Video customer in all analyses and meetings.

About the team
This role sits within the APAC Regional Programming & Insights team. The Insights function owns the full audience insights remit at both regional and local levels — covering Australia/New Zealand, Japan, and Southeast Asia — and drives customer-obsessed decisions across Business Planning, Content, Marketing, and Programming. The team serves as a trusted, strategic partner for cross-functional stakeholders.
As part of a broader regional team with colleagues throughout APAC, you will benefit from shared best practices while driving impact for your local audiences and business — Australia & New Zealand and Southeast Asia.
