The opportunity
CSIRO's Business and Infrastructure Services (CBIS) team manages a complex national property portfolio comprising more than 1,000 buildings across 59 locations in Australia and several international sites. These facilities support world-leading research, national research infrastructure and corporate operations.
As the Coordinator, Contract Compliance and Governance , you will play a key role in ensuring our facilities are safe, compliant and well maintained. Working closely with facility operations teams and contractors, you'll oversee contract governance, compliance auditing, procurement support and performance management activities that help maximise asset performance and deliver value for money.
You'll influence contract management practices across a diverse property portfolio, strengthen contractor accountability and contribute to continuous improvements in maintenance, compliance and governance processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement, facilities, asset management or contract management professional seeking to make a meaningful impact within a complex national organisation.
Your high-level duties will include:
- Coordinating governance, compliance and performance management activities across maintenance and facilities contracts.
- Monitoring contractor performance, KPIs and service level agreements to ensure contractual and regulatory obligations are met.
- Maintaining contract registers, audit records and procurement documentation to support effective contract lifecycle management.
- Supporting procurement activities, including RFQs, panel arrangements and tender processes in accordance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules and CSIRO policies.
- Leading contract compliance reporting, financial tracking and contractor audit programs.
- Identifying and mitigating contract, procurement and contractor-related risks.
- Supporting the quality and integrity of asset data and maintenance records within CSIRO's asset management systems.
- Developing guidance, training and education materials to build contract management capability across CBIS.

Salary: AU$118k - AU$127k pa + 15.4% superannuation

As the successful candidate, you will bring:
- Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent experience in facilities management, asset management, contract management, commerce, procurement, property or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience managing governance, compliance and performance requirements across complex maintenance, facilities or service contracts.
- Working knowledge of procurement processes and contract administration, including tendering, quotation processes and supplier engagement.
- Experience working within a public sector, government, regulated or similarly governance-heavy environment.
- Proven ability to manage procurement and contracting activities while balancing cost, quality, compliance, safety and customer outcomes.
- Knowledge of relevant compliance, regulatory and legislative requirements relating to facilities, building services, contractor management and workplace safety.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgement and make informed decisions.
- Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders across multiple locations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and customer service skills, with the ability to influence and engage a broad range of stakeholders.
