TPS Engineer
What You'll Be Doing
As a TPS Engineer, you will serve as the technical focal point for product performance, system reliability, and customer satisfaction. You will work closely with engineering, product development, field service, and customer teams to support new product introductions, resolve complex technical issues, drive continuous improvements, and ensure successful deployment of advanced semiconductor equipment and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in New Product Introductions (NPI) and Early Learning Shipments (ELS), supporting successful product deployment and customer adoption.
- Own product hardware performance for assigned customer accounts and provide third-level escalation support for complex hardware and software stability issues.
- Lead failure analysis activities to identify recurring technical issues, develop corrective action plans, and drive design improvements that enhance product reliability and performance.
- Provide Alpha Site support for new hardware, software, and process developments, including installation, operation, calibration, servicing, validation, and testing within engineering environments.
- Support Beta Site deployments at customer locations, ensuring successful installation, qualification, calibration, operation, and performance verification of new products and processes.
- Review and initiate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), ensuring data-driven recommendations and effective communication of solutions to field teams and customers.
- Engage directly with customers and internal stakeholders during escalations, driving technical discussions and resolution of product availability, reliability, and performance concerns.
- Generate, analyze, and present system performance data and reliability metrics, including: MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures)
- MTBI (Mean Time Between Interventions)
- System Availability
- Process Performance Metrics
- Installed Base and Intervention Analysis
- Support the development of technical documentation, including CENs, BKMs, upgrade procedures, troubleshooting guides, and support plans.
- Present technical reviews and performance updates to engineering teams and customer stakeholders while ensuring successful field implementation of recommended actions.
- Organize and deliver on-site technical training programs for new product introductions and early learning shipments.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer between Business Units, engineering teams, and customer-facing organizations to strengthen technical expertise across global teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product Development, Global Product Support (GPS), Manufacturing, and Field Service to drive operational excellence and customer success.
What You Should Have
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Instrumentation Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience supporting semiconductor capital equipment, engineering systems, reliability labs, or advanced manufacturing environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and root-cause analysis capabilities.
- Understanding of hardware systems, software integration, product reliability, and engineering change management processes.
- Experience with performance and reliability metrics such as MTBF, MTBI, Availability, and Uptime.
- Ability to analyze technical data and convert findings into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and customer audiences.
- Experience supporting customer escalations and cross-functional technical programs is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within global teams.
