The Business Optimization team has a simple mission: we turn massive amounts of data into actionable insights that drive business value. Our analytic consultants and data analysts work with Visa’s clients and staff to improve portfolio and product performance, program profitability and cardholder experiences around the world. By coupling in-depth analysis of portfolio behavior with Visa’s world-class products, digital offerings and marketing capabilities, we ensure our clients’ programs operate at their peak potential and that cardholders have seamless commerce experiences in both the physical and digital world.

What a Business Optimization Consultant – Data & Insights Delivery does at Visa:

As part of the Client Services organization, the Business Optimization Consultant, Data & Insights Delivery will help deliver Visa’s business optimization vision to clients across Asia Pacific. In this role, you will use strong analytical skills, business judgment, and creative problem-solving to address real-world business challenges for Visa clients and ecosystem partners.

This role will derive analytical insights on client performance and deliver findings to external clients and internal stakeholders through compelling presentations, dashboards, and visualizations. Prior to completing an analysis, the role will formulate the analytical approach, source relevant datasets from internal tools and platforms, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Combine and analyze disparate data sources and derive insights in a Big Data environment; independently perform analysis to render robust, thoughtful results.
- Assess market intelligence and research needs across priority corridors and markets to identify authorization improvement opportunities.
- Lead client-facing initiatives and consulting projects that produce actionable insights to optimize authorization performance across Asia Pacific.
- Collaborate and partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop ready-to-consume insight packages, automated templates, and self-service reporting capabilities.
- Coordinate with existing internally focused reporting teams to deploy a single source of truth on authorizations. This includes aligning on a common set of reports, definitions, and data sources across markets and stakeholders.
- Build and deploy capability to generate forward-looking view of opportunities, develop the hypothesis of key leading indicators of authorization trends, gather data and conduct analysis to isolate the key leading indicators of opportunity, develop and deploy the model to continuously track and report on the leading indicators.
- Lead management reporting dashboards & scorecards and establishing cadence of reporting across different executive stakeholders to support authorization improvement campaigns
- Proven ability to translate complex data into compelling executive narratives, develop and present analytical deliverables in an accurate, understandable and engaging manner, confidently manage client objections, and influence stakeholders to drive alignment and action.

This role is important because authorization performance directly impacts client outcomes, cardholder experience, transaction approval rates, and business growth. By transforming complex transaction data into clear insights and recommendations, the Senior Consultant will help Visa and its clients identify opportunities, improve decision-making, and deliver measurable performance improvements across Asia Pacific.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

What you will need:

- Extensive experience in data analysis and/or insight delivery, with a proven track record of creating business value from data.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Subject matter expertise in authorization is highly preferred.
- Experience using AI, large language models, agents, or automation tools such as Claude code to streamline analytics workflows, generate insights, or improve reporting efficiency is required.
- High level of proficiency manipulating data from a variety of sources - Big data skills (Hadoop, Hive, Python, Spark) and/or SQL skills required.
- Experience visualizing data with tools like Power BI, Tableau; advanced Tableau skills are highly desirable.
- Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to articulate complex data into business language.
- Must be proficient in all MS Office applications with advanced Excel spreadsheet skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

What will also help:

- Working knowledge of Visa transaction processing, including authorization and clearing systems.
- Visa experience or broader knowledge of the payments industry.
- Experience applying advanced statistical techniques such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, clustering, or decision trees to real-world business problems is preferred.
- Working knowledge of machine learning techniques and their practical advantages and limitations is preferred
