Lenovo Digital Trust Lab seeks an experienced, hands-on Security Research Team Lead to lead the research and development of a new high-performance security system, defining its technical vision, goals, and engineering standards.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across Lenovo to align priorities, drive execution, and transition the technology from an innovative concept into a commercially viable product, while building and growing a high-performing team.

Candidate must be willing to work onsite three days a week in our Tel-Aviv, Israel office.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the research and development of a high-performance security system, owning the technical vision, roadmap, and goals.

• Build, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers: hire, set objectives, and foster a culture of ownership and excellence.

• Define and uphold engineering standards: architecture, code quality, testing, secure-by-design, and release practices.

• Drive execution: plan, prioritize, and deliver milestones from proof-of-concept through MVP to production.

• Collaborate with stakeholders across Lenovo (product management, business units, infrastructure, and security teams) to align priorities and requirements, and communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership and to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Translate customer and market needs into technical requirements, and lead the transition from innovation to a commercially viable product.

• Remain hands-on in architecture and design reviews of key components (distributed processing, ML-driven capabilities, and data integrations).

Minimum Requirements:

• BSc in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• 8+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years leading research teams, proving excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence across a large, global organization.

• Proven track record of taking a product from concept to production, preferably in the security or infrastructure domain.

• Strong technical background in distributed systems, backend development, and cloud-native architectures.

• Solid understanding of cybersecurity concepts (threat detection, data protection) and experience defining technical roadmaps and engineering processes in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience building security products.

• Experience applying ML/AI to security use cases.

• Experience in a startup or innovation lab, taking new technologies to market.

• MSc in Computer Science or a related field.
