Job Summary

The Product Manager - Core HR, Roles & Access is a key role within the colleague transformation programme. You will be responsible for delivering a best‑in‑class end‑user experience across Core HR data, roles, and access management within Tesco’s Work & Pay and associated platforms.

You will own a large, business‑critical product domain with multiple internal and external stakeholders. You will define the product vision, shape the roadmap, and lead delivery from discovery through to implementation and optimisation. You will apply strong product management practices, champion user‑centric design, and drive data‑led decision‑making to continuously improve product performance

You Will Be Responsible For

Product Vision, Strategy & Roadmap

- Creating and driving forward the unified product vision, strategy and roadmap for Core HR and Roles & Access.
- Ensuring alignment with programme objectives, business priorities, and colleague experience outcomes.
- Validating requirements for future waves and releases to ensure long‑term scalability and compliance.

Stakeholder Engagement & Discovery

- Identifying stakeholder groups and building strong relationships to understand their Jobs To Be Done.
- Understanding user personas, customer journeys and pain points across both product areas.
- Discovering, managing and prioritising requirements using epics, user stories, personas and acceptance criteria.

Product Delivery & Backlog Ownership

- Creating, maintaining and owning the product backlog for Core HR and Roles & Access.
- Applying strong prioritisation techniques to maximise business value with minimal effort.
- Working with programme and technology teams to progress backlog items through Tesco Flow methodology, sprint planning and release cycles.
- Supporting the enduring model to transition delivered processes into BAU.

Product Performance & Compliance

- Delivering to agreed KPIs and being accountable for product performance, adoption and continuous improvement.
- Driving experiments, testing hypotheses and creating MVPs to inform data‑driven decisions.
- Ensuring compliance with information security, data protection and access governance standards.
- Prioritising, coordinating and communicating the resolution of live product issues independently.

Leadership & Collaboration

- Providing support, coaching and guidance to junior Product Managers and peers.
- Demonstrating product features confidently to varied audiences across Tesco.
- Collaborating with colleagues, business stakeholders, suppliers and third parties to ensure successful delivery.

Experience Relevant for the Job

- Prior experience with leading HCM cloud solutions such as Oracle HCM Cloud (Fusion) and Zellis HCM Cloud.
- Strong understanding of Core HR, roles, access management and associated data structures.
- Good understanding of technologies and functionalities in Core HR / Security for designing system integrations.
- Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and how software products are built.
- Experience in developing or managing a product (desirable).
- Strong knowledge of tools and techniques for backlog prioritisation, dependency management and data‑driven insights.
- Broad understanding of technologies relevant to product management.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, data mapping experience and ability to manage high‑volume data.
- Requirements gathering and prioritisation experience is essential.
