About this role
Job title: Senior Executive, Learning & Development
Location: Hyderabad
Reports to: Learning & Development Manager
Experience: 5-6 years in L&D, HR operations, program management or a related function
Role summary: We're looking for a sharp, intuitive and curious Senior Executive to work directly with the L&D lead on strategic learning initiatives and leadership reporting. You'll also own the 90-day onboarding cycle for new hires, making sure they ramp up quickly, feel supported and become productive in their roles. You'll bring a solid grounding in how adults learn and a practical understanding of how AI can improve both learning and the way L&D teams work. This role suits someone who learns fast, anticipates what's needed and takes ownership without being chased.
Key responsibilities
- Own and run the 90-day onboarding cycle for new hires, from pre-joining through Day 90, including the 30-60-90 day plans, structured check-ins and milestone reviews.
- Coordinate learning plans, buddy and mentor assignments, and manager touchpoints for each new-hire cohort, and follow up to make sure nothing slips.
- Collect new-hire feedback through surveys and conversations and turn it into improvements to the onboarding experience.
- Track onboarding completion, learning progress and readiness, and flag risks or delays early to managers and the L&D lead.
- Partner closely with the L&D lead on strategic initiatives, from planning and stakeholder coordination to execution and follow-through.
- Apply adult learning principles to program design, so that learning is relevant, practical, experience-based and tied to on-the-job application.
- Support the design of learning paths, blended programs, cohorts and mentorship initiatives using proven frameworks.
- Measure learning effectiveness beyond completion numbers, using evaluation models to show behavior change and business impact.
- Handle leadership reporting and data requests, building dashboards and summaries on onboarding, participation, completion, learning hours and program effectiveness.
- Identify and pilot practical uses of AI in L&D, such as AI-assisted content creation, personalized learning paths, skills mapping, learner support and reporting automation.
- Support the rollout of AI upskilling programs for employees, including role-based learning paths and adoption tracking.
- Run the operational side of learning programs, including scheduling, communications, nominations, vendor and trainer coordination, and tracking.
- Maintain learning data and trackers in the LMS and learning platforms, keeping reporting accurate and current.
- Gather training needs from business teams and keep learning plans aligned with business priorities.
- Prepare presentations, briefs and documentation that make complex information easy for senior stakeholders to follow.
- Keep program documentation, templates and processes well organized so work can be handed over smoothly.
What we're looking for
- 5-6 years of relevant experience, with a record of owning programs end to end
- Hands-on experience running structured onboarding or new-hire programs, ideally across multiple cohorts
- Working knowledge of adult learning methodologies and instructional design frameworks, for example andragogy, experiential learning, the 70-20-10 model, ADDIE or SAM, and the Kirkpatrick evaluation model
- Working knowledge of AI tools and how they apply to learning and development, including generative AI for content, analysis and productivity
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with good judgment on what matters
- A proactive, intuitive working style: you notice gaps and act before being asked
- A real willingness to learn new tools, domains and ways of working
- Clear written and verbal communication, including with senior stakeholders and new joiners
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets, and comfort building reports and dashboards
- Discretion in handling confidential information
Good to have
- Experience in an IT services, data or cloud company
- Exposure to an LMS or platforms such as Udemy Business
- Familiarity with BI tools and HRMS systems such as Keka
- Certifications or demonstrable hands-on work in AI, generative AI, instructional design or L&D (for example ATD, CPTD or similar)
Education: Graduate in any discipline; a postgraduate degree in HR, psychology, education or a related field is a plus.
