international partners for expertise on products such as Radio Frequency (RF) Products, C4ISR, Crypto Global Solution, MACS (Aeronautical Intercom) and many others.

Your role

Within the Engineering division of Thales Belgium, the Cybersecurity Engineering discipline is responsible for supporting an end-to-end Secure by Design approach in all products, projects and services provided to customers worldwide, as well as leading the technical aspects of cybersecurity-centric activities.

Inside the discipline, the Cybersecurity Architecture team supports the cybersecurity aspects of all solutions throughout the business activities of Thales Belgium and leads the architecture works of cryptography and cybersecurity-centric solutions, in strong cooperation with all engineering disciplines and following a risk-based approach.

As an experienced and dynamicC ybersecurity Architecture Team Leader , you will be responsible for leading a team of cybersecurity architects (Around 10 people, mostly internals), ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, reliable, and secure solutions.

You are also responsible for the respect of the cybersecurity engineering governance, in line with Thales' processes, and will participate to the growth of a broader culture of Secure-by-Design in the company. You will report to the Head of Cybersecurity Engineering.

Your missio n

• Leadership and Team Management : Manage and mentor the team, fostering

collaboration, professional growth and performance improvement through

regular check-ins, while ensuring optimal team capacity and sourcing to sustain business growth.

• Bids & Project Delivery : Drive bid estimation, project planning, and on-time

delivery while ensuring adherence to Thales' engineering standards and best

practices for Secure-by-Design development & operations. As a recognized

senior architect, take an active part in cybersecurity delivery and review

activities and contribute to the on-time, on-cost & on-quality objectives of the

company.

• Innovation and Improvement : Champion innovation by staying ahead of

technology and methodology trends, while driving continuous improvement

within the team and across the organization.

• Collaboration and Communication : Promote transparent communication and team alignment, ensuring shared goals while recognizing achievements to strengthen collaboration.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related STEM field with 8+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience.

• Mindset of a collaborative mentor, focused on creating thriving cross-

disciplinary environments, fostering collaborators growth and respecting the

right to be wrong.

• Experience across the definition and elaboration of system and cybersecurity architecture across a full product development lifecycle, including early concept definition, low- and high-level architecture, interface control and verification & validation support.

• Experience leading engineering teams on complex cybersecurity, critical systems or defense programs.

• Proficiency with system & threat modelling, state of the art hardware and/or

software security measures in applicative and/or embedded systems, and

cryptography (including post-quantum algorithms).

• Experience with cybersecurity risk management, systems architecture and

certification frameworks (e.g. Common Criteria).
