Your day at NTT DATA
The Site Reliability Engineer - Level 2 is responsible for the design, optimization, support, and management of complex cloud infrastructures. Serving as an advanced technical escalation resource, this role leads the implementation of improvements that enhance platform reliability, operational performance, security, and cost efficiency. Through proactive guidance, automation, and cloud optimization strategies, this role empowers customers to fully leverage their Azure environments while achieving their business and technical objectives.

Key responsibilities:

- Design, support, optimize, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure to ensure enhanced availability, performance, reliability, and security.
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting, service review, and root cause investigations to identify issues, minimize business impact, and ensure the timely resolution of incidents and service disruptions.
- Implement infrastructure changes and enhancements while ensuring minimal disruption to customer operations.
- Monitor systems proactively, respond to alerts and notifications, and take appropriate actions to maintain service health and stability.
- Automate operational tasks and processes using Azure Automation, Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell, Bash, and PowerShell scripting to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Utilize Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices with tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, and Bicep to deploy and manage cloud environments.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance system reliability, operational efficiency, and customer experience.
- Conduct infrastructure health assessments, right-sizing exercises, and cost optimization reviews to maximize performance and cloud investment value.
- Validate and maintain the security standards of cloud environments in accordance with security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Deploy, manage, and support containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Leverage knowledge of networking, SQL, Linux, and Windows Server technologies to support and enhance cloud platforms.
- Provide technical guidance and escalation support to Level 1 engineers and assist in resolving complex incidents.
- Support business-critical situations and ensure issues are escalated appropriately to Level 3 Support or Service Delivery teams in line with service commitments and internal KPIs.
- Prepare issue resolution reports, customer recommendations, and technical reviews that drive operational improvements.
- Review and validate service review reports before submission to Customer Success Managers.
- Support the onboarding and development of new team members and act as a technical reference for junior engineers.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure exceptional service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and professional standards while contributing to a collaborative team culture.

To thrive in this role, you need to have:

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services, architecture, and cloud-native technologies.
- Experience with cloud application design patterns, modern infrastructure architectures, and cloud operational best practices.
- Solid understanding of compute, networking, storage, content delivery, database administration, security, and analytics services.
- Good understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS service models and their associated support requirements.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, including Terraform and ARM Templates.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts, deployment automation, and cloud operations.
- Foundational knowledge of SQL, networking, Linux, and Windows Server administration.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and incident management capabilities across complex technical environments.
- Ability to understand diverse customer environments and align technical solutions with business needs.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement, automation, and operational excellence.

Academic qualifications and certifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Azure Security Engineer Associate are highly desirable.
- Relevant certifications in cloud platforms, Infrastructure-as-Code, Kubernetes, automation, or IT service management are considered an advantage.
- Commitment to professional development through training, certifications, and learning.
