About this role

The impact you’ll make

Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia, web-based publications and user sites; may produce content for embedded user assistance technology. Conducts interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation. Researches and translates technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for nontechnical and technical users. May document engineering processes and specifications. Recommends formats responsive to technical and customer requirements. Produces products that conform to the company documentation and quality assurance standards.

What you’ll do

- Create, update, and maintain high-quality technical documentation for our  products, systems and tools. Collaborate closely with engineering, subject matter experts, safety and product support engineers to gather and validate technical information.
- Develop user-focused content including installation guides, safety and troubleshooting procedures, operation manuals, service documentation, and knowledge base articles.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and easy-to-understand content for diverse audiences.
- Ensure documentation accuracy, consistency, usability, and compliance with company standards.
- Manage documentation throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring content remains current and aligned with product changes.
- Support structured authoring, content reuse, and documentation best practices to improve efficiency and content quality.
- Support continuous improvement of documentation processes, templates, and tools.
- Leverage modern documentation technologies, including content management systems and AI-assisted authoring tools, to enhance productivity and content quality.
- Participate in design reviews, product development discussions, and change management activities to proactively identify documentation requirements.

Who we’re looking for

- Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience
- A strong communicator with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Someone who enjoys working cross-functionally and building relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A self-motivated professional capable of organizing and managing multiple documentation projects simultaneously.
- A detail-oriented individual with a passion for accuracy, consistency, and user experience.
- A problem solver who can quickly understand complex technical topics and transform them into effective documentation.
- A collaborative team player who can influence stakeholders and drive documentation excellence across the organization.
- A continuous learner who embraces new technologies, processes, and tools.

Preferred Qualifications

- 4+ years of experience with semiconductor equipment and semiconductor industry
- experience in technical writing, content development, or a related documentation role.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, specifications, software workflows, or engineering documentation.
- Experience working with and documenting complex hardware, software, manufacturing, semiconductor, automation, or engineering systems.
- Knowledge of industry standards, quality systems, and documentation compliance requirements is a plus.
- Strong understanding of technical documentation principles, information architecture, and content lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with version control systems and engineering change management processes.
- Experience using AI-assisted content creation and documentation tools.
- Experience in a global, multicultural environment with geographically distributed teams is preferred.

What We're Offering

This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry in the occupation group E or G depending on educational background and experience. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
