About this role

The Electronic Data Auditor is responsible for reviewing and auditing police report data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established business rules and quality standards. This role identifies data discrepancies, analyzes findings, evaluates data quality concerns, and documents audit results

.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills and can effectively distinguish between true data quality issues and acceptable variations. The Data Quality Auditor collaborates with Operations, Product, Technology, and other business partners to support data quality initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

The successful candidate will be intellectually curious, confident in asking questions, and comfortable communicating findings and concerns across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct audits of police report data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to business rules and quality standards.
- Identify, document, and categorize data discrepancies and quality concerns.
- Apply critical thinking and sound judgment to distinguish material errors from acceptable data variations or business-rule exceptions.
- Analyze audit findings to identify recurring trends, patterns, and potential areas of concern.
- Conduct research and analysis to support audit findings and issue investigation activities.
- Maintain audit records, quality metrics, and reporting related to audit activities.
- Read and interpret structured data formats, including XML, to validate field values and support data quality investigations.
- Partner with Operations, Product, Technology, and other stakeholders by providing detailed findings and supporting issue investigations and root cause analysis efforts.
- Assist in developing and maintaining audit procedures, documentation, and quality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience

- Bachelor's Degree holder
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in Police Records Data Keying, Data Quality, Data Normalization, or a related function.
- Experience reviewing detailed data and identifying quality issues preferred.
- Experience working with operational reports and performance metrics preferred.

- Ability to assess information, identify patterns, and draw logical conclusions from data and supporting evidence.
- Ability to evaluate discrepancies within context and determine whether differences represent true errors, acceptable variations, or business-rule exceptions.
- Ability to read and interpret XML and other structured data formats to validate data elements and investigate potential issues.
- Demonstrated confidence in asking questions, challenging assumptions, and raising concerns when potential quality issues are identified.
- Comfortable participating in discussions regarding data quality issues, providing supporting evidence, and advocating for appropriate investigation of findings.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively to both business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-directed, intellectually curious, and motivated to investigate issues beyond the obvious.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply enterprise AI tools and technologies to support technical workflows and business objectives.

Technical Proficiency

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, filters, pivot tables, and basic reporting.
- Experience working with quality metrics, audit reporting, and data analysis tools preferred.
- Basic understanding of data structures, field mapping, and data validation concepts preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of police report data and related business processes.
- Experience with data quality auditing, research, data normalization, or quality control functions.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related discipline preferred.

Eligibility Requirements (for internal candidates)

Applicants must:

- Be in their current role for at least one (1) year.
- Have not received any Disciplinary Action within the past 12 months.
- Have no Attendance and Punctuality issues within the past 12 months.
