About this role

Senior People & Programs Partner, Europe Go-to-Market

As Mimecast's Senior People & Programs Partner, Europe Go-to-Market, you'll be the principal people partner for Europe Sales and Channel, and the global people partner for Sales Engineering and MSP & Tech Alliances.

You'll advise senior leaders on organisation design, workforce planning, performance, reward and employee relations, balancing regional priorities with the needs of two worldwide functions.

This is a senior individual contributor role with substantial autonomy. You'll shape long-term people strategy, resolve day-to-day issues and represent Europe in the design of global people programmes.

##

What You'll Do

Business Partnership and Organisation Design

- Partner with the SVP Europe GTM and their leadership team to translate regional go-to-market strategy into an actionable people plan.
- Set people practices, organisation structure and talent strategy for Sales Engineering and MSP & Tech Alliances globally, working with local HRBPs to balance consistency with local needs.
- Lead workforce planning, territory and organisation design changes, and capability mapping with Finance and Sales Operations as quota and coverage needs evolve.
- Support acquisition due diligence, integration planning and change management affecting the European GTM organisation.

Headcount and Position Management

- Own Europe GTM headcount tracking and approvals, ensuring every requisition is linked to an approved, funded position.
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready position data, reporting lines, cost centres and organisation charts in the HRIS.
- Build and reconcile headcount plans against actuals with Finance/FP&A and Sales Operations, identifying variances and driving resolution.
- Validate backfill requests against organisation design, territory coverage and budget. Audit organisational data with Finance and People Ops to resolve discrepancies.

Talent, Performance and Reward

- Own goal-setting, calibration, performance review and promotion cycles for your client groups, supporting fair and consistent outcomes across countries.
- Partner with Revenue Operations and Total Rewards on sales compensation design, plan interpretation, quota setting and incentive disputes.
- Build succession plans and development pathways for revenue-critical roles, and support senior GTM hiring with Talent Acquisition, including interview design and offer strategy.
- Coach sales leaders and first-line managers to strengthen their people leadership and build high-performing, psychologically safe teams.

Employee Relations, Culture and Change

- Manage complex employee relations cases across the UK and relevant European jurisdictions, including performance, conduct, grievances and restructures.
- Work with Legal and local works councils or employee representative bodies on consultation, identifying and mitigating people-related commercial and legal risks.
- Guide leaders and teams through restructures, territory changes and transformation programmes.
- Drive culture, values and engagement programmes that support an included, motivated European GTM organisation.
- Champion AI tools and continuous improvement in HR workflows and GTM ways of working. Use people, pipeline, performance and engagement data to diagnose issues and influence leadership decisions.

What You'll Bring

- Extensive progressive HR Business Partner experience, including significant experience supporting Sales or other quota-carrying, customer-facing functions in a technology or SaaS business.
- Experience operating at Principal level, influencing VP and C-suite stakeholders and navigating ambiguity with limited oversight.
- A demonstrated track record partnering with global functions across regions and time zones, balancing consistent practices with local needs.
- Strong, current working knowledge of UK employment law and practical exposure to at least one other major European jurisdiction.
- Fluency in sales compensation mechanics, management of quota-carrying teams and the metrics that matter to a revenue organisation.
- Hands-on ownership of headcount and position management, including HRIS position data, requisition approvals and reconciliation of plans against actuals with Finance.
- Experience leading organisation design, restructuring and change programmes end to end.
- Strong stakeholder relationships and the confidence to challenge senior leaders constructively, alongside comfort working with distributed, multicultural teams across European time zones.
- Genuine enthusiasm for using AI and modern HR and GTM technology, including HRIS, ATS, sales performance and incentive tools, to improve how HR and the business work.
