Assistant Facilities Manager - Technical | Chennai
At JLL, we are shaping the future of real estate for a better world. We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Assistant Facilities Manager - Technical to support the delivery of engineering and facilities operations within a corporate workplace environment in Chennai.
In this role, you will support the management of critical building infrastructure and technical services, ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations. You will work closely with the Facilities Manager and service partners to oversee preventive maintenance programs, vendor performance, compliance requirements, and day-to-day engineering operations across the site.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in building systems and facilities engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
What this Job Involves
- Support the management of technical facilities operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, DG, UPS, STP/WTP, BMS, and fire & life safety systems.
- Ensure planned preventive maintenance activities are executed as per schedule.
- Monitor asset performance and support breakdown resolution to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure service delivery standards are achieved.
- Conduct routine technical inspections and audits of building systems.
- Support statutory compliance, EHS requirements, and safety initiatives.
- Assist in energy management and sustainability programs.
- Prepare operational reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.
Key Skills & Experience
- 4-8 years of experience in Facilities Management, Building Operations, or Technical Services.
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Good understanding of MEP systems, HVAC, electrical distribution, and fire safety systems.
- Experience in preventive maintenance planning and vendor management.
- Knowledge of statutory compliance, EHS practices, and risk management.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate corrective actions.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and facilities management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in corporate real estate, commercial buildings, or large integrated facilities.
- Knowledge of BMS, Energy Management Systems, and sustainability practices.
