WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US
We are looking for a Senior Principal AI & Full Stack Software Engineer to join our newly established Cloud & AI Accelerator team.
This is not a role about shipping your own backlog — it's about raising the bar for how SimCorp builds software. You'll move between teams, spark the conversations that need to happen about how we work as much as what we build, and make sure the initiatives that matter most actually get unblocked and move forward. We're looking for someone who is genuinely curious, comfortable in ambiguity, and unafraid to challenge how things have always been done — including our own.
The team focuses on accelerating high-impact, strategic initiatives across SimCorp. We work where we believe we can create the most value: shaping new solutions, exploring what AI and cloud technologies make possible, and supporting business initiatives that need speed, innovation, and strong engineering foundations.
We generally organize around several smaller teams rather than a few large ones, so alongside working across teams, you'll often step in as tech lead for a specific initiative within one of these smaller teams — owning technical direction day-to-day, not just weighing in from the outside.
You'll work across the full stack — Azure, .NET, TypeScript, Angular — while working closely with engineers, architects, UX designers, and business stakeholders across SimCorp. AI is central both to what we build and how we build it; we actively use tools like Claude Code to push modern, AI-assisted engineering workflows.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Act as tech lead for specific initiatives within one of our smaller teams — owning technical direction day-to-day and setting the team up to move fast
- Act as a connective force across teams — ensuring architectural and technical decisions are coherent, not siloed, and that the right conversations happen between teams before problems calcify
- Take a leading role in how teams build, in close partnership with our architects
- Help unblock specific, high-priority initiatives — proactively spotting where projects are stuck and driving them forward
- Challenge the status quo, both in how teams work and in what we're solving for the business
- Lead green-field development of new initiatives exploring new business ideas and opportunities
- Build a shared cloud and AI platform with reusable components so SimCorp can build faster, and in a more standard way, over time
- Mentor and guide engineers and teams, raising the overall engineering bar
- Explore how AI can improve user experience, workflows, and engineering productivity — and build AI agents in collaboration with different business domains
- Design, build, test, and maintain modern cloud-based applications and AI agents across the full stack
- Contribute hands-on to frontend and backend development (.NET, TypeScript, Angular)
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- A track record of operating with autonomy — you don't wait to be told what to do, and you help teams figure out what to do themselves
- Deep experience as a software engineer, on either the frontend or backend, with strong all-around technical judgment
- Solid experience with C#, .NET, and cloud-based development
- Genuine passion for AI, with hands-on experience building or working with AI agents
- Strong instincts for system design and architecture, including how services should communicate
- A willingness to speak up and challenge things that don't make sense — even when it's uncomfortable
- A track record of taking previous projects from idea to delivery
- Curiosity, a can-do attitude, and comfort operating in environments where we learn and adapt as we go
WHAT WE VALUE
Experience with Angular, Kubernetes, Azure, distributed systems, micro-frontends, enterprise software, multi-region or multi-tenant architecture, disaster recovery, scalability, vnets, security, or investment management workflows is a strong plus, though not required.
We know great candidates rarely match every point perfectly. What matters most is that you're motivated by learning, improving, and building meaningful products together with the team.
BENEFITS
Competitive salary, bonus scheme, and pension are essential parts of any work agreement. At SimCorp, we also believe in supporting a healthy and sustainable work life.
We offer flexible working hours, a hybrid workplace model, and an individual approach to professional development that supports the direction you want to grow in — whether that's technical expertise, product understanding, architecture, leadership, or new technologies.
You'll have the opportunity to work on impactful initiatives, collaborate across domains, experiment with modern technologies and AI-assisted workflows, and help shape the future of cloud-based investment management solutions.
