Job Description
Role Mission
The Senior Director, Digital Business drives the performance, development, and optimization of Gucci’s digital business across the Americas. The role leads the execution of digital strategies across Digital Operations, Digital Merchandising, Digital Content, and Digital Performance, ensuring an elevated and commercially effective digital experience. Working closely with the VP, Digital Business & Client Services and global Digital teams, the role translates global strategy into market priorities while partnering cross-functionally to deliver results. The Senior Director is accountable for digital business performance, identifying opportunities to drive online sales, conversion, client engagement, and profitability.
Key Accountabilities
Digital Business & Commercial Performance
- Drive the execution of the Americas digital business strategy in partnership with the VP, Digital Business and Client Services and Global Digital teams;
- Monitor digital business performance and identify opportunities to improve key KPIs, including Net Sales, Conversion, Traffic, Average Order Value, Net-Down Ratio, and customer acquisition and retention;
- Partner with Finance and senior leadership on annual sales planning, forecasting, budget revisions, and performance reporting;
- Develop actionable recommendations based on business performance, market trends, customer insights, and competitive activity;
- Support the identification and development of business cases for initiatives that drive digital revenue, profitability, client engagement, and experience;
- Track competitors and best-in-class digital retailers to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
Digital Retail & Merchandising
- Partner closely with Merchandising, Digital Content, Digital Experience, and Marketing teams to maximize the digital potential of each collection, campaign, and Gucci long-lasting line;
- Oversee the execution of digital merchandising strategies, ensuring product presentation, content, navigation, and storytelling are aligned with Gucci's brand standards and commercial priorities;
- Ensure digital assortment, content, and merchandising strategies appropriately reflect market needs and client behaviors;
- Partner with Retail and Client Engagement to strengthen the connection between digital and physical channels and deliver a coordinated omnichannel client experience;
- Support the development of differentiated digital experiences that provide compelling reasons for clients to shop Gucci.com;
- Partner with Wholesale and relevant business teams to support consistent digital brand presentation across concession and online wholesale environments.
Digital Marketing & Customer Acquisition
- Partner with Marketing & Communications and Global Digital teams on the execution of digital marketing strategies across SEM, SEO, affiliate, paid media, and emerging digital channels;
- Monitor digital marketing performance and identify opportunities to optimize traffic, customer acquisition, conversion, and return on investment;
- Support the development and implementation of digital campaigns that effectively translate Gucci's brand and product stories into the digital environment;
- Ensure digital marketing activities are aligned with broader commercial, merchandising, client engagement, and brand priorities;
- Maintain strong knowledge of evolving digital marketing practices, technologies, and luxury consumer behaviors.
Digital Experience & Client Journey
- Partner with Digital, Client Engagement, and Client Services teams to deliver a seamless and consistent client journey across digital and physical channels;
- Map and evaluate key stages of the digital client journey, identifying friction points and opportunities to enhance the overall customer experience;
- Leverage Voice of Customer research, Client Services feedback, post-purchase surveys, and behavioral data to identify opportunities for improvement;
- Ensure digital client experience standards and relevant service level expectations are established, monitored, and continuously improved;
- Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance post-purchase servicing, fraud management, and other elements of the digital customer experience.
Digital Operations
- Oversee the execution of digital business projects and initiatives, ensuring appropriate prioritization, timelines, resources, and stakeholder alignment;
- Serve as a key regional stakeholder in the development and implementation of the Gucci.com roadmap and other global Digital initiatives;
- Partner with Client Engagement, Client Services, Warehouse/Logistics, Retail Operations, and Technology teams to address operational requirements and enhance the omnichannel experience;
- Identify opportunities to improve digital processes, tools, and capabilities and support the implementation of scalable solutions;
- Support strategic initiatives related to UX Design, Site User Experience, Client Experience, and Omnichannel Services;
- Ensure effective communication of digital priorities, initiatives, and business performance across the organization.
Cross-Functional & Global Partnership
- Build strong partnerships with Merchandising, Retail, Marketing & Communications, Client Engagement, Client Services, Finance, Supply Chain, and other corporate functions;
- Act as a key point of contact between North America and Worldwide Digital teams, ensuring effective translation and execution of global initiatives;
- Bring North American market insights, customer needs, and business opportunities to Worldwide partners to inform future digital strategies;
- Facilitate collaboration across teams to ensure digital priorities are integrated into broader business strategies and commercial plans;
- Educate and advocate for the digital business across the organization, increasing digital understanding and adoption among key stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop Digital Business team members, fostering accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement;
- Establish clear priorities and performance expectations while providing ongoing feedback and development opportunities;
- Build strong digital capabilities across merchandising, content, analytics, operations, and customer experience;
- Encourage a customer-first and data-driven mindset across the Digital organization.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Digital, Communications, or related field;
- 8–12+ years of progressive experience in digital business, eCommerce, digital marketing, or luxury retail, preferably within a global luxury or premium consumer brand;
- Demonstrated experience managing and optimizing an eCommerce or digital business with responsibility for commercial performance;
- Strong understanding of digital retail, digital merchandising, content, customer experience, digital marketing, and omnichannel business models;
- Proven ability to translate digital strategy into actionable business priorities and measurable results;
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience with sales forecasting, budgeting, performance reporting, and KPI management;
- Deep understanding of digital customer journeys and the ability to translate customer insights into meaningful experience improvements;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, diagnose performance issues, and develop actionable recommendations;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively influence senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a global, matrixed organization and build strong partnerships with Worldwide teams;
- Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
- Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with experience working with digital analytics, reporting, and eCommerce platforms;
- Creative and entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated ability to drive innovation from concept through execution and deliver tangible business results;
- Strong customer-first mindset and passion for luxury, digital innovation, and evolving consumer behaviors.

Salary Range – New York
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, GUCCI includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications. In addition, where a candidate falls within the disclosed range estimate may be dependent on the applicable geographic differential associated with the location in which the position may be filled.
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $185,000 USD to $200,000 USD.
