Job Overview
The Office Clerk will p erform general office tasks and assist various departments.
Job Responsibilities
GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
• Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, contractors, and incoming telephone calls, directing inquiries appropriately.
• Receive, sort, distribute, and maintain office correspondence and records.
• Monitor contractor safety, training, and site-access requirements; coordinate follow-up with appropriate personnel.
• Maintain office and facility supply inventories and place orders as needed.
• Coordinate employee travel, event registrations, continuing education, building access cards, and company gas cards.
• Support charitable contributions, product donations, community events, industry events, and annual festival logistics.
• Review invoices, maintain garment records, resolve service discrepancies, and assist with general invoicing.
• Maintain required business permits and licenses and support timely renewals.
PRODUCTION AND ORDER SUPPORT
• Process milk tickets, maintain milk schedules, reconcile milk activity with cooperatives, and prepare required operational reports.
• Prepare bills of lading, invoices, logs, and filing for whey cream shipments.
• Compile customer and employee cheese and cheese curd orders and communicate production requirements to supervisors.
• Enter and update orders and shipping documentation in SAP, including bills of lading.
• Process employee product deductions and provide completed information to Human Resources.
HUMAN RESOURCES AND EMPLOYEE SUPPORT
• Maintain sick-leave and timekeeping records and submit reviewed and approved timesheets to Payroll.
• Coordinate random drug-testing activities and maintain related documentation.
• Plan and coordinate employee meetings, orientation and training meals, recognition events, holiday activities, and company gatherings.
• Track attendance, prepare disciplinary documentation for review, and monitor upcoming warning-expiration dates.
• Provide basic employee systems and access support, including password resets and access-device distribution.
• Perform other administrative, production, and HR support duties as assigned.
• All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
• All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
The pay for this position is $19.23/hr - $23.08/hr. All offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees and certifications, and internal equity. This range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations.
Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Effective communication skills with varied audiences and situations.
- Ability to make decisions based on standard practices.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of arithmetic, spelling, grammar or general high school subject matter.
- Emits helpful, and professional demeanor; develops relationships easily.
Preferred Education and Experience
- 1 year of general office experience or more.
- SAP experience.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
Working Conditions
• Work is mainly performed in an office setting, with some time spent in a manufacturing environment
