Lonestar Integrated Solutions is seeking a Pre-Fabrication Assembler to support the fabrication, assembly, and preparation of commercial electrical components and pre-fabricated assemblies in a controlled shop environment. This role is responsible for producing repeatable, accurately prepared assemblies according to blueprints, shop drawings, layout drawings, and project specifications to support efficient field installation.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, organized, and committed to producing high-quality work. This position is performed primarily in a shop, warehouse, or manufacturing environment and is focused on preparing assemblies and materials for field installation. Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and assemble commercial electrical pre-fabricated components, including junction boxes, device assemblies, multi-gang switch brackets, light fixture assemblies, supports, and other repeatable assemblies according to shop drawings and project specifications.
- Measure, cut, bend, and prepare conduit for pre-fabricated assemblies using project dimensions, layout drawings, and established fabrication standards.
- Assemble and prepare commercial electrical devices, boxes, brackets, supports, and related hardware into complete pre-fabricated assemblies for delivery to field teams.
- Prepare and pre-wire commercial electrical devices and assemblies, including receptacles, switches, junction boxes, and light fixture components, as required by project drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, layout drawings, cut sheets, and project specifications to determine assembly requirements, dimensions, materials, and quantities.
- Measure, mark, cut, drill, fasten, and assemble materials using standard hand and power tools, including conduit benders, wire strippers, crimpers, drills, and other fabrication equipment.
- Conduct visual inspections and quality control checks to verify completed assemblies are properly built, labeled, and prepared in accordance with project specifications, company quality standards, and applicable requirements.
- Label, sort, package, and organize completed pre-fabricated assemblies by project, area, or installation sequence to support efficient delivery and installation by field teams.
- Prepare job travelers/folders and required assembly documentation to ensure completed materials are accurately identified and matched to the appropriate project or work area.
- Monitor material and component usage, maintain organized material storage, and communicate shortages or production needs to management.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe workstations and pre-fabrication areas while adhering to company safety standards and procedures.
- Collaborate with Shop Managers, Project Managers, Engineering teams, and field operations to clarify fabrication requirements, address drawing or material questions, and support project production schedules.
- Follow all safety protocols applicable to shop, warehouse, and electrical pre-fabrication environments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience in commercial electrical installation, electrical assembly, or a pre-fabrication shop environment preferred.
- Ability to read and understand electrical layouts, schematics, blueprints, and basic shop drawings.
- Basic understanding of commercial electrical materials and applicable National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
- Experience with conduit preparation and bending, electrical component assembly, labeling, and material preparation.
- Proficiency with standard hand and power tools used in electrical fabrication and assembly.
- Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on accuracy, proper labeling, material tracking, and documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively in a shop, warehouse, or production environment.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
- May be required to lift, carry, push, or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in warehouse or shop conditions that may not always be climate-controlled and may include heat and humidity.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements for extended periods.
- Must be able to safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery used in electrical assembly and pre-fabrication activities.
