Purpose of job

We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration Specialist who will own the safety, performance, and operational continuity of refrigeration systems across Amazon's India portfolio. This role is based in the AMOC (Amazon Maintenance Operation Centre) and focuses on advanced remote monitoring, root-cause analysis, vendor coordination, compliance oversight, and continuous improvement of refrigeration operations across AMZL and GSF sites.

The Refrigeration Specialist will take ownership of alarm resolution quality, refrigeration KPI performance, and vendor accountability. This person will also coach and mentor escalation specialists within the team, contribute to process standardization, and serve as the primary refrigeration subject matter expert within AMOC India.

We are seeking an engineer with solid refrigeration knowledge and the drive to take full ownership of refrigeration excellence in a growing network.

Key job responsibilities
· Vendor and Ticket Management: Own the end-to-end quality of refrigeration work orders, validating asset selection, severity classification, and technical descriptions. Lead vendor coordination including dispatch prioritization, SLA tracking, follow-up on ETAs and on-site execution.

· Remote Monitoring & Root-Cause Analysis: Monitor refrigeration systems through advanced platforms, interpreting mechanical and temperature trends to detect anomalies early. Perform in-depth triage on alarms to identify root causes, determine corrective actions, and validate resolution effectiveness. Drive continuous improvement by analyzing recurring issues, building insights, and recommending system or process changes to engineering teams.

· Documentation & Knowledge Management: Lead the creation and maintenance of refrigeration documentation including case studies, SOP updates, workflows, troubleshooting guides, and lessons learned to support AMOC and RME teams. Ensure documentation is current, accessible, and aligned with operational standards.

· Team Development & Capability Building: Coach and mentor Escalation Specialists within the team, reinforcing correct triage, work-order processes, and escalation procedures across shifts. Support onboarding of new team members and serve as the primary refrigeration reference point within AMOC India.

· Process Improvement & Compliance: Drive adherence to established refrigeration workflows and proactively identify improvements to alarm handling, vendor management, WO processes, and regulatory compliance. Ensure all refrigeration activities comply with FGAS regulations and Amazon safety standards.

· Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with RME field teams, Operations, and external vendors to ensure alignment on refrigeration priorities, site-specific requirements, and network expansion activities.

Basic Qualifications

- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Travel up to 15% of the time
- • 3+ years of experience in facilities management or maintenance operations
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Management, or other relevant topic, or 5+ years of facility management
- • Good knowledge of refrigeration plants, or cooling systems cold rooms, and food safety.

Preferred Qualifications

- Refrigeration maintenance and food safety experience.
- Experience with advanced analytics and machine learning applications in maintenance
- Professional certifications in Facility Management or Building Automation Systems
