WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Lumbermen’s is seeking a highly organized, creative and detail-oriented Events & Marketing Coordinator to join our marketing team in Byron Center. This role will lead the planning and execution of customer and industry events while also supporting a variety of marketing initiatives across the company.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who can manage multiple priorities, build strong relationships and independently lead projects from concept through completion.
Event Planning & Execution
- Plan and coordinate 4–5 regional events each year across Lumbermen’s footprint in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Minnesota, Kentucky and Pennsylvania
- Promote and coordinate customer events and experiences
- Research and secure event venues, food and beverage services and other vendors
- Communicate and coordinate with sponsors, participants, vendors and internal teams
- Develop and execute event marketing and promotional plans to drive attendance
- Manage event budgets and track expenses
- Oversee registration, logistics, event set-up and on-site execution
- Prepare post-event summaries, surveys and performance reports
- Manage industry memberships and coordinate participation in industry events
- Assist with planning employee and community events
Marketing Support
While event planning will be the primary focus of this position, this role will also support the marketing team with a variety of projects, including:
- Project coordination and management
- Customer marketing support
- Other marketing projects as needed
- Any other projects assigned by the Director of Marketing.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED required
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines and priorities
- Comfortable working independently while contributing as part of a team
- Experience in event planning, including negotiating with vendors and coordinating event partners
- Comfortable delegating tasks and managing event logistics
- Experience in or solid understanding of marketing functions, including email, social media, print, digital and website marketing
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Willingness to travel periodically throughout Lumbermen’s service area
- Building Materials industry experience, a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
