As an RN Program Coordinator, a caregiver in this role will support trauma quality improvement and patient safety initiatives by collaborating with trauma surgeons, physicians and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities include reviewing clinical data and trauma cases, identifying opportunities for process improvement, investigating quality concerns and coordinating projects focused on enhancing the safety and quality of trauma care. The caregiver will also support trauma accreditation and regulatory compliance efforts while helping implement evidence-based practices and process improvements across the program.

This is a full-time role. A caregiver in this position will work 8:00am to 4:30p. No weekends, holidays or on-call requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

- Identifies and recommends opportunities to improve care to positively impact the quality and the cost of care for the Nursing Institute.
- Completes quality management activities and initiatives to evaluate nursing care practices. Completes data collection and analysis.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and assists in implementing programs to improve quality scores and patient outcomes.
- Monitors, collects data, evaluates, educates and assesses patients.
- Supports overall nursing unit's outcomes.
- Plans and conducts special projects as assigned. Handles daily nursing activities.
- Communicates nursing quality initiatives and regulatory agency or other industry or professional standards to nurses and others.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing

- Five years of clinical (direct patient care) RN experience
- Knowledge of healthcare systems

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

- Master's Degree in nursing
- Experience with trauma administration and American College of Surgeons (ACS) reverification site visits is highly preferred
- TNCC instructor is highly preferred
- ATLS (advance trauma life support) coordinator is highly preferred

Physical Requirements:

- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires frequent standing and walking.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Works under stressful conditions and requires irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
- Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.

Personal Protective Equipment:

- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
