Summary

Play a key role in supporting environmental compliance and efficient plant operations as a Senior Wastewater Operator. In this hands-on role, you will help lead wastewater operations, train and develop wastewater associates, and maintain critical equipment and processes. You will work closely with the Wastewater Lead to ensure proper operations, maintain documentation, and uphold safety and environmental standards. This role is ideal for an experienced wastewater professional who enjoys problem-solving, supporting others, and contributing to safe and effective wastewater operations.

Schedule : Monday through Friday, 2:00pm - 10:00 pm.

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Review documentation and consult with the Wastewater Lead when necessary.

- Ensure proper training of wastewater associates.

- Train wastewater associates on proper operation of offal and wastewater.

- Train wastewater associates on proper maintenance techniques.

- Train wastewater associates on standard operating procedures.

- Train wastewater associates on monthly safety and environmental topics.

- Direct wastewater operations and associates as directed and in the absence of the Wastewater Lead.

- Develop and maintain a maintenance log for wastewater operations and associates.

- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for all wastewater operations.

- Ensure effluent compliance.

- Ensure proper loading of wastewater.

- Perform assigned preventive maintenance.

- Maintain all appropriate paperwork.

- Repair and maintain all equipment in wastewater.

- Adhere to all safety requirements, including personal protective equipment, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, and lockout-tagout procedures.

- Make operational decisions required to maintain the operation of the wastewater area.

Minimum Education and Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- 5 years of prior and related experience.

- Strong reading, writing, analytical, and math skills.

- DE Industrial 3 or 4 wastewater license.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

- Carry 50 pounds up the stairs.

- Work with chemical exposure including, but not limited to, sodium hydroxide (25% and 50%), ferric chloride, potassium permanganate, defoamer, polymer (dry and liquid), and lubricating oils.

- Work in noise exposure levels of 90 to 94.9 dB and lighting of 50 to 75 foot-candles.

- Use tools including, but not limited to, knives, scissors, clippers, sharpening steel, shovels, mechanic hand tools, and hand scoops.

- Operate equipment including, but not limited to, a welder, cutting torch, grinder, industrial shop equipment, power jack, forklift, and truck/tractor.

- Use personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, hearing protection, vision protection, rubber gloves, cotton gloves, hard hat, lab coat, and face shield.

- Sit occasionally.

- Bend occasionally at 4 to 6 repetitions per minute.
