About this role

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Associates to perform all safety checks at the start of their shift on all cranes and tools and document this as necessary. Continue to perform safety checks throughout the shift.

- Assist in the training of Quality Assurance Technicians under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager.

- Interface effectively with the Operations (floor and office) Department, the Materials Management Department, the Marketing Services Department, as well as other Quality Assurance Personnel, to clearly communicate the quality status of particular jobs.

- Work closely with engineering personnel to review inspection and documentation criteria (based on customer specifications, codes, etc.) and ensure that these are carried out and communicated appropriately.

- Setup and maintain Joint Index Databases (JIDs).

- Generate documentation packages according to customer requirements.

- Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with customer and outside inspector visits.

- Preform and record necessary no- destructive tests, including visual, magnetic particle and dye penetrant inspection

- Schedule outside NDE activities as necessary.

- Assist Quality Assurance Manager in special projects or systems development if needed.

- Monitoring and enforcement of the quality control manual, sessions, and other relevant procedures.

- Assist in calibration activities of measuring and test equipment.

- Initiate, or help floor personnel initiate, corrective measures through established systems.

- Investigate and Document possible root causes of in process deficiencies and proposes preventative measures to eliminate the deficiencies.

- Preform random inspection activities at a frequency determined by the Quality Assurance Manager.

EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:

- Tape measure, levels, calipers, micrometer, thread gauges, pressure gauges, ultrasonic thickness gauge, mill thickness gauge, pyrometer, and other measure and test equipment.

- Forklifts, hoists, handcarts, and other material handling equipment.

- Basic hand tools (both manual and power).

- Basic welding techniques.

- Computer knowledge and software packages.

- Ability to work will in a fast paced environment to meet team expectations.

- Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.

- Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.

- Must have a basic understanding of computers.

- Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.

- Good communication skills.

- Ability to accurately read blueprints related to welding fabrication, good oral communication skills, 1 year experience in a like environment, or a minimum of 1 year post high school education in a related field.
