The Prevention & Education Specialist co-coordinates Green Dot, a bystander intervention community program. This non-exempt position reports to the Director of Prevention & Education.
What You’ll Need
- A bachelor’s degree in a human service or communications field, or a degree in a relevant discipline.
- Creativity, problem-solving skills alongside teamwork and effective communication.
- Innovation with a passion for community outreach and engagement.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, have access to personal transportation and be willing to travel for presentations, trainings, and other business related activities.
- Preferred prior experience/knowledge in the area of violence prevention.
What You’ll Do
Green Dot Projects: Plan annual Green Dot action events, facilitate meetings and deliver trainings to include 1-hour overviews and 3-hour bystander trainings. Develop social marketing for Green Dot awareness, education and events and manage Green Dot’s website and social media accounts.
Prevention Projects: Support and facilitate a wide range of age-appropriate violence prevention curricula and presentations. Collaborate with staff on CVIC’s risk and protective factor surveys and foster relationships with school personnel and community organizations.
Public Education, Training & Awareness Activities: Coordinate registrations, staffing and represent CVIC at local tabling events to include evenings and weekends, as needed. Participate in prevention training online and at the local, state and national level. Conduct community outreach to agencies, schools and businesses. Develop, update and deliver trainings and presentations to community members, students and professionals as needed.
Compliance: Maintain grant compliance by tracking Green Dot budgetary expenses, collecting and entering training evaluations, updating and submitting monthly fidelity checklists. Participate in monthly calls with the grant manager and the ND Department of Health to seek technical assistance, attend trainings and in site visits as scheduled. Coordinate the collection of data and statistics for grant reports using data systems to enter, analyze and generate evaluation reports.
Committees & Meetings: Participate in the North Dakota Primary Prevention Partners Group, attend CVIC meetings and serve on committees as assigned.
