ASSISTANT PROPAGATOR

Qualifications

- Previous experience in plant propagation, greenhouse production, or horticulture preferred.

- Experience with cutting, sticking, seeding, transplanting, and general plant care techniques.

- Knowledge of basic greenhouse growing practices, including irrigation, fertility, and environmental controls.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify plant quality issues, insects, or diseases.

- Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.

- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.

- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

- Ability to work weekends and extended hours when business needs require.

- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong teamwork and collaboration.

Responsibilities

- Assist the Propagation Grower and Greenhouse leadership team with all aspects of daily propagation and greenhouse operations.

- Receive, organize, and care for incoming cuttings, seeds, and propagation materials.

- Perform sticking, seeding, transplanting, spacing, and other propagation activities according to production schedules.

- Monitor crops daily for growth, quality, moisture levels, insects, and disease concerns, communicating issues promptly to the Propagation Grower.

- Assist with managing environmental conditions, including temperature, ventilation, humidity, mist cycles, irrigation, and fertility programs.

- Support the care and development of propagation and vegetable crops to ensure healthy growth and readiness for future production stages.

- Assist in organizing and placing crops to maximize greenhouse space and maintain optimal growing conditions.

- Ensure greenhouse facilities, work areas, and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and efficient manner.

- Collaborate with the Plant Health and Grower teams to implement pest and disease management practices.

- Maintain accurate records related to crop progress, environmental conditions, production activities, and inventory as directed.

- Train and assist team members on propagation procedures and quality standards when requested.

- Participate in weekly crop evaluations and quality walks with greenhouse leadership.

- Follow all company safety policies, standard operating procedures, and quality expectations.

Compensation

- Wage Range: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Benefits

- Full-time, year-round position. Part-time hours are not available for this position.

- Benefits available after 90 days, including PTO, Holiday Pay, Health Insurance, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance.
