JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
This position is critical driver in improving overall reliability in each jurisdiction. It has responsibility for the implementation of work management programs and for consistent application. The Supervisor of Work Management is responsible for the day-to-day execution of the long-cycle Work Management operating model. This position coaches employees, ensures work is prepared for execution, resolves work readiness barriers, and escalates risks that affect schedule reliability, resource utilization, customer commitments, and field productivity.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise long-cycle Work Management personnel, including Work Management Planners and operational support roles, by providing leadership, coaching, training, performance feedback, and accountability for standardized work execution.
• Lead long-cycle Work Management activities, including work identification, prioritization, planning, work readiness, backlog management, capacity planning, forecasting, and schedule readiness.
• Monitor planning performance, work readiness, backlog health, forecast accuracy, resource utilization, and schedule readiness; identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee work package quality, material and permit readiness, outage coordination, labor estimates, and execution readiness to ensure work is prepared for safe and efficient field execution.
• Partner with Asset Management, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Vegetation, Construction, Reliability and other stakeholders to identify optimal resource plans, resolve planning constraints, improve work readiness, and reduce execution risk.
• Drive adoption of standardized Work Management processes, technologies, reporting, and data quality expectations while supporting storm response, emergency restoration, business continuity, and other operational priorities.
• Provide status reports and scorecards to support accountability of goals set within Power Delivery: contractor governance, overtime governance, schedule adherence, manhour productivity, workorder throughput and commitments met, etc
• Serve as escalation point for issues on the team with scheduling and dispatching.
• Works with the Field Work Management Manager to provide technical oversight of the Planners to lead a coordinated deployment of resources across the jurisdiction
• Serve as a member of the Incident Response Team during storm events.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Management, or related field preferred; equivalent utility operations, planning, engineering, construction, Work Management, or field operations experience may be considered.
Minimum experience required of the position
• Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible utility operations, planning, engineering, Work Management, construction, field operations, or related operational experience.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
• Strong understanding of long-cycle Work Management principles, including work identification, planning, prioritization, work readiness, backlog management, forecasting, capacity planning, and schedule development.
• Ability to supervise, coach, train, hold accountable, and develop employees in a standardized operating environment.
• Ability to use dashboards, reports, and operational reviews to identify planning issues, explain root causes, and implement practical corrective actions.
• Strong working knowledge of utility construction, maintenance, reliability, customer-driven work, capital work, inspection programs, and planned field execution.
• Ability to influence field leaders, planners, engineering, and functional partners to resolve work readiness issues and improve execution outcomes.
• Knowledge of planning governance, work package quality standards, readiness reviews, backlog management, forecast development, and planning performance metrics.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain operational issues, planning risks, performance gaps, and business impacts clearly to employees, partners, and management.
• Proficiency with Work Management, planning, reporting, and Microsoft Office tools.
