Hatchery Worker Labor HY01

The starting pay for this position is $17.55/hr. with a $1.00 shift increase for second/third shifts. We offer advancement opportunities and steady work. This facility operates 4 days a week and is responsible for the incubation and hatching of chicks that support poultry production operations. The facility may also operate on weekends and holidays, as needed, to meet production requirements and ensure continuous animal care and hatchery operations.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Hatchery Worker Labor HY01 supports essential hatchery operations that contribute to the production of healthy, high-quality chicks. This position is responsible for assisting with daily production activities, monitoring product quality, handling materials, maintaining accurate records, and supporting operational efficiency throughout the facility. Team members are expected to work safely, follow established procedures, and use sound judgment to help meet production, quality, animal welfare, and biosecurity standards. Duties may vary based on business needs and operational priorities.

Work Schedule: This position is scheduled to work for the following hours:

- Monday 4:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Tuesday 4:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Thursday 4:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Friday       4:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Shift times, hours, weekends, and holidays may fluctuate based on production needs. All holidays are expected if it falls on a scheduled work day.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

- Support daily hatchery operations to help achieve production, quality, and animal welfare goals.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain work areas, equipment, and materials for efficient operations.
- Perform production-related activities involving eggs, chicks, supplies, and hatchery materials.
- Monitor chick quality and report concerns or irregularities to leadership.
- Move products, materials, and supplies throughout the facility using approved equipment and safe work practices. (pallet jack)
- Accurately document production information and complete required records using paper or electronic systems.
- Assist with routine equipment operation, inspections, and reporting of maintenance needs.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies related to safety, quality assurance, sanitation, biosecurity, animal welfare, and GMPs.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and ready for production activities.
- Work cooperatively with team members and leadership to meet operational objectives.
- Demonstrate flexibility in supporting changing production demands and departmental priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support hatchery and facility operations.

Physical Requirements: Must be willing and able to perform the following:

- Must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be willing and able to stand for extended periods up to 10 hours.
- Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed throughout the shift.
- Must be willing and able to work in hatchery conditions including hot, cold, wet, humid, dusty, tolerate odors, noisy environments and varying temperatures.
- Must be willing and able to bend, reach, push, pull, climb, twist, and perform repetitive motions as required by the position.
- Must be willing and able to work around moving machinery and production equipment.
- Must be willing and able to wear required personal protective equipment.
- Must be willing and able to work around poultry, feathers, dust, and other hatchery-related materials.
- Must follow all Tyson biosecurity policies and procedures, including any facility-specific requirements related to personal protective equipment, visitor restrictions, animal contact, sanitation, and movement between areas as required.

External Education and Experience:
Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required; ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work safely in a production environment. Preferred: Previous hatchery, poultry, manufacturing, agricultural, or production experience; experience operating equipment, pallet jacks, tablets, or electronic production systems.

Rehire Criteria:

·       Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.

·       Also, if you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire.
