General Risk Management responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating various risks that could impact the organization's operations and objectives. Activities may include:

- Conducting risk assessments to identify potential threats

- Developing and implementing risk management strategies and policies

- Monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements

- Analyzing data to evaluate risk exposure

- Coordinating risk mitigation efforts across departments

- Providing training and guidance on risk management practices to ensure organizational resilience

Risk Management work focuses on financial, insurance, operational, project, market and/or regulatory risk including identifying and characterizing potential risks, assessing vulnerability of critical assets to specific risks. Activities may include:

- Optimizing the organization's insurance coverage in areas such as property & casualty, general liability, product liability, and directors/officer's liability.

- Risk analysis and modelling to assess probability of specific risks occurring and evaluate/value the impact/consequences of occurrence.

- Developing process and procedures to report on, manage, and mitigate risks to acceptable levels.

- Internal and external stakeholder reporting, including regulatory reporting.

- Other duties as assigned.

Career Level Definition

Manages a department or small unit that includes multiple teams led by Managers and/or Team Leaders. Responsibilities typically include:

- Ownership of short to mid-term (1-3 years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the Department.

- Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis.

- Requires ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.

Knowledge & Experience

- Bachelor's Degree required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

- Typically requires mastery level knowledge and skills within assigned discipline, with broad understanding of areas within the job function, generally gained through experience

- Typically requires 10+ years prior leadership experience, and demonstrates broad management and leadership knowledge to lead multiple job areas
