Job Description

Albemarle is hiring for a Commissioning Manager. This position is onsite and located in Planta Salar, San Pedro de Atacama, Chile.

What You Will Do

- Lead the overall commissioning strategy, execution plan and systems completion process for the DLE operation.
- Coordinate pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and operational readiness activities across all project phases.
- Establish commissioning standards, acceptance criteria, readiness gates and handover requirements.
- Integrate Engineering, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, HSE and external vendors to ensure a safe and efficient start-up.
- Manage system walkdowns, punch list closure, risk reviews and commissioning performance metrics.
- Ensure operational teams are prepared through training, documentation transfer and readiness programs.
- Support chemical introduction, system testing, start-up and ramp-up activities while managing operational risks.

What You Bring

Required

- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial operations, commissioning, start-up, capital projects or process plants.
- Demonstrated experience leading commissioning, pre-commissioning, system completion and operational readiness activities.
- Strong knowledge of process safety, mechanical completion, turnover, handover and start-up methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary and matrix teams in complex industrial environments.

Preferred

- Postgraduate studies or certifications related to commissioning, operational readiness, process safety, project management or reliability engineering.
- Experience in lithium, chemical processing, hydrometallurgy, mining or DLE technologies.
- Experience working with EPC contractors, OEMs and large capital projects.
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Strong stakeholder management, leadership and influencing skills.
