## POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Supply Planner is a strategic and analytical leader responsible for ensuring supply continuity, optimizing inventory, and driving supplier performance across complex global networks. This role leads cross-functional initiatives, mentors junior planners, and partners closely with Demand Planning, Logistics, and Category Management to align supply strategies with business goals. The Senior Supply Planner leverages advanced planning tools such as Logility, Microsoft Dynamics D365, and Power BI to drive data-driven decisions, mitigate risk, and support continuous improvement across the supply chain.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct regular purchasing reviews to align supply with forecasted demand and inventory targets.
- Release replenishment purchase orders in alignment with demand plans and safety stock levels.
- Review planned but not purchased items to ensure timely order placement and avoid supply gaps.
- Maintain open purchase orders by updating delivery dates, quantities, and shipment details as needed.
- Respond to purchasing alerts and exceptions to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Build and manage import loads to optimize container utilization and reduce freight costs.
- Coordinate with Logistics and Inbound Scheduling to ensure efficient receipt and flow of goods.
- Collaborate with Logistics to optimize inbound freight and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with suppliers to confirm availability, lead times, and shipping schedules.
- Monitor and maintain supplier scorecards to track performance metrics such as on-time delivery, fill rate, and responsiveness.
- Manage supplier programs and initiatives to improve service levels and reduce supply chain risk.
- Lead supplier performance reviews and collaborate on corrective actions.
- Monitor supplier capacity and lead time variability to proactively manage risk.
- Identify and resolve supply constraints through proactive communication and escalation with vendors.
- Maintain supply continuity during product transitions or discontinuations.
- Support special programs and promotional events by ensuring timely and accurate supply execution.
- Provide insights and reporting on supply status, risks, and opportunities to cross-functional teams.
- Analyze supply trends and inventory performance to identify opportunities for cost savings, lead time reduction, and inventory optimization.
- Utilize Microsoft Dynamics D365 and planning tools to manage purchasing workflows and analytics.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in purchasing and supply planning processes.
- Lead or co-lead cross-functional supply chain projects (e.g., supplier transitions, system enhancements, cost reduction initiatives).
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in supply planning.
- Provide informal leadership and mentorship to junior planners and cross-functional partners.
- Act as a subject matter expert in supply planning, offering guidance on complex issues and process improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in supply planning, purchasing, or procurement
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics D365 and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience in supplier collaboration and performance management
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Preferred:
• ASCM CPIM or CSCP Certification
- • Experience mentoring or managing others in a matrixed or informal leadership capacity
