MULTI-ASSET SOLUTIONS (MAS) OVERVIEW
Multi-Asset Solutions (MAS) is the dedicated multi-asset class investing and advisory platform within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. MAS designs, constructs, and manages customized multi-asset solutions, discretionary mandates, and commingled funds, and is home to one of the industry's largest Outsourced CIO (OCIO) businesses. The team brings together state-of-the-art strategic and tactical asset allocation, open-architecture manager selection, dynamic portfolio rebalancing, risk analytics, and liability-hedging techniques to deliver whole-portfolio solutions.
GSAM Multi-Asset Solutions is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented professional to join the Business Unit Chief Operating Officer (COO) Team . The BU COO team acts as a strategic advisor to MAS senior leadership, driving operational excellence, digital transformation, governance, risk management, and commercial strategy across the platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Business Planning & Execution: Partner with the MAS COO and senior leadership to drive strategic business initiatives, evaluate operating models, and support platform scale across OCIO, wealth model portfolios, and institutional mandates.
- Management Information & KPI Reporting: Compile, analyze, and distribute executive-level KPIs, business dashboard metrics, fee/revenue models, and AUM/flows reporting for MAS leadership, investment committees, and firmwide stakeholders.
- Operational Efficiency & Digital Optimization: Identify operational bottlenecks in portfolio onboarding, reporting, and trading workflows; collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Product teams to prioritize platform enhancements and champion process automation and workflow digitization.
- Governance, Risk & Controls: Support business risk assessments, supervisory procedures, and entitlement reviews; ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks, investment policies, and GSAM operational controls.
- Data Integrity & Architecture: Ensure consistency and integrity of business metadata across internal systems used for pipeline tracking, client onboarding, profitability, and leadership analytics.
- Business Unit Administration: Manage floor administration, system and trading entitlement approvals, expense governance, and ad-hoc presentation decks for town halls and strategic reviews.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Operations, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of prior professional experience in financial services, asset management, management consulting, or corporate strategy.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities with a high level of intellectual curiosity.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial and operational modeling) and PowerPoint (executive presentations).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to distill complex data into actionable leadership summaries.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail, structured workflow management, and disciplined follow-through.
- High commercial acumen, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive business data and confidential leadership matters.
- Adaptability to manage competing priorities and deliver under tight deadlines in a dynamic investment environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or SQL).
- Demonstrated interest in workflow automation and modern financial technologies.
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $85000-$110000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
