The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated and highly responsive Software Developer who is committed to delivering critical software solutions in support of the Department of the Navy (DoN) mission. Join our Agile team supporting customer and application needs across multiple efforts for our Navy customer deployed in unclassified and classified production environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and Government customers to design, build, and deliver innovative features while supporting modernization initiatives, identifying opportunities for artificial intelligence (AI) applications, developing software, and maintaining audit compliance.

Responsibilities:

·         Define and implement project deliverables throughout the software development life cycle.

·         Update front-end code using Java, Python, and JavaScript, as well as back-end code and Oracle databases, for applications.

·         Apply secure coding best practices to help protect each application.

·         Design, develop, and implement software modifications in response to system change requests.

·         Implement software enhancements and add new functionality based on Government-directed requirements.

·         Troubleshoot system software defects and develop effective solutions.

·         Analyze system database performance and recommend and implement improvements.

·         Mitigate software security vulnerabilities to support cybersecurity compliance.

·         Support the application release pipeline in development environments.

·         Use Jira to track code and database changes within an Agile Scrum process.

·         Research AI, data structures, and algorithms using a variety of tools, technologies, methodologies, and data analysis techniques to improve existing AI models and develop innovative solutions.

·         Analyze current system architecture and propose upgrades as new technological advances become available.

·         Coordinate with stakeholders to support compliance with financial and information technology audit standards for operations and systems.

Qualifications:

Required:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

·         Five or more years of experience with Java, Python, or similar programming languages and/or experience writing PL/SQL code.

·         Experience with current AWS AI services, modern AI frameworks, and AI considerations—including security, privacy, and regulatory requirements—for developing and deploying AI features.

·         Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot effectively in a fast-paced environment.

·         Willing and able to support off-hours and weekend coverage as needed.

·         Experience defining and designing complex requirements.

·         Willing and able to obtain an Interim/Secret clearance. Current and active Secret preferred

·         Willing and able to work a hybrid schedule with 1-2 days per week onsite in Washington, DC.

Desired:

·         Experience with AWS RDS for Oracle.

·         Strong database development experience.

·         Experience with Python frameworks such as Django.

·         Experience with Agile methodologies, including Jira.

·         Experience supporting the Department of Defense or other Federal agencies.

·         Experience with Department of Defense Financial and Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) data and processes.

·         Security+ certification.

·         Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

·         Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Pay Range :

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$86,600 - $181,800
