The Sourcing and Contract Specialist is responsible for procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management activities that support organizational operations. This role manages the acquisition of goods and services, administers supplier contracts throughout the contract lifecycle, and partners with internal stakeholders to secure favorable commercial terms, support regulatory compliance, and maintain operational continuity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Support procurement, sourcing, and contract management activities across the organization.
- Source products and services in accordance with organizational policies and business requirements.
- Lead RFP, RFI, and RFQ processes and evaluate supplier proposals.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and supplier agreements within delegated authority.
- Review, negotiate, execute, amend, renew, and terminate supplier contracts.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Finance, and operational stakeholders during contract review and approval processes.
- Identify and evaluate contractual, operational, and financial risks.
- Maintain contract records and monitor renewal and expiration dates.
- Monitor supplier compliance with pricing, service levels, and contractual obligations.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct spends analysis, benchmarking, and market research to identify sourcing opportunities and cost savings.
- Support implementation and administration of GPO and supplier agreements.
- Prepare contract summaries, sourcing recommendations, and business case documentation.
- Ensure procurement and contracting activities comply with organizational policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Generate reports related to purchasing, contract status, supplier performance, and savings initiatives.
- Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement and contract management processes.

- Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field. 5 + years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, in strategic sourcing, procurement, contract management, supplier negotiations, or supply chain management. Experience leading sourcing events and contract negotiations, ERP, and contract management systems.
Healthcare, laboratory, or other regulated industry experience preferred.
- Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Convey a skilled phone manner for handling internal and external customer’s issues. Ability to analyze contract terms and identify business risks.
- Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning Ability:
Ability to work independently; demonstrate initiative and analytical ability; and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess strong attention to detail, and highly organized. Demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision and direction. Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional office and laboratory environment. Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Computer Skills:
Capacity to cover a broad scope of technologies and functionalities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, Workday, and contract management tools.
- Certificates and Licenses:
No certifications are needed. Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP), or Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM).
Experience working with healthcare GPO contracts and supplier agreements.
