The Opportunity
Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled NX Specialist to support, optimize, and continuously improve our Siemens NX environment. This role combines daily end‑user support with strategic customization, integration, and standards development responsibilities. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail‑oriented, and experienced with advanced NX capabilities such as Product Manufacturing Information (PMI), Model-Based Definition, and Check-Mate.
The NX Specialist will:
- Provide daily end user support, resolving support tickets and assisting with modeling, assemblies, and workflows.
- Perform general troubleshooting across NX, including part and assembly loading/saving issues.
- Support business migration to PMI and Model-Based Definition (MBD) workflows.
- Configure, run, and maintain NX Check-Mate to support compliance, quality assurance, and design standards.
- Work closely with subject matter experts to develop, maintain, and enforce NX standards and best practices across the organization.
- Develop and maintain NX Open customizations (.Net).
- Investigate, test, validate, and deploy NX software upgrades.
- Support and enhance Teamcenter–NX integration, including workflow customization and validation.
- Manage and troubleshoot third-party integrations, including ANSYS, Altium, 3DCS, and DFMPro.
- Maintain and improve Siemens Teamcenter integrations, such as Plant Simulation/Tecnomatix and Simcenter.
- Administer and optimize NX license usage.
- Lead evaluations of new NX capabilities and industry trends to:
Identify efficiency improvements
- Collaborate with SMEs on future standards
- Build and maintain a continuous improvement roadmap
- Align the organization with modern CAD/CAE best practices
- Assist in maintaining, supporting, and customizing Teamcenter.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- 5+ years of experience with NX customization and administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with Siemens NX, including advanced modeling and assemblies.
- Experience with PMI, MBD, and NX validation tools such as Check-Mate.
- Proven ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and engineering teams to define and maintain standards.
- Competence in developing NX Open customizations (VB.Net preferred).
- Familiarity with multi-system engineering integrations (ANSYS, Simcenter, 3DCS, Altium, DFMPro, etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a customer-service mindset.
- Experience with software upgrade management and system validation.
- Understanding of CAD/PLM workflows and data management best practices.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, IT, and leadership.
- Self-driven, with the ability to identify improvement opportunities and lead technology evaluations.
- Experience with Jira and Bitbucket/Git, or similar software, and working on a team of software engineers.
- The ability to work independently, leveraging analytical skills to identify and anticipate problems
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Additional Qualifications
- Experience with engineering design/release/manufacturing processes is desired.
- NX CAM experience would be beneficial.
- Experience in writing customizations with Teamcenters Integration Toolkit (ITK).
- Experience in Teamcenter maintenance and support such as using Business Modeler IDE (BMIDE), applying updates, and making changes to configuration.
