About this role
The Inbound Material Handler supports inbound operations by unloading, receiving, verifying, staging, and moving product safely and accurately. This role completes receiving transactions, supports putaway readiness, identifies discrepancies, and handles or supports Dangerous Goods materials only when trained and authorized under company procedures and applicable requirements.
JOB DUTIES:
- Unload, receive, verify, stage, and move inbound materials in accordance with receiving schedules, work instructions, operational priorities, safety expectations, and warehouse flow requirements.
- Inspect inbound shipments for product accuracy, quantity, condition, labeling, packaging integrity, and documentation completeness by comparing product against purchase orders, packing lists, bills of lading, delivery paperwork, and system records.
- Use RF scanners, computers, warehouse management systems, receiving systems, and related tools to complete accurate receiving and inventory transactions, support putaway readiness, and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Prepare, sort, wrap, consolidate, re-palletize, manually handle, or move inbound materials, and operate material handling equipment when trained and authorized, to support safe handling, discrepancy resolution, and efficient material flow.
- Handle, receive, identify, segregate, label, document, stage, verify, and escalate Dangerous Goods materials or shipments only as trained and authorized and in compliance with company procedures, carrier requirements, transportation safety requirements, and applicable DOT, 49CFR, IATA, or IMDG regulations where applicable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, push, pull, and move continuously for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to manually handle products, cartons, pallets, packaging materials, and inbound freight safely and efficiently.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment when trained and authorized and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment with varying temperatures, noise, moving equipment, dock activity, trailers, and frequent material movement.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all safety requirements related to general warehouse work, inbound material handling, and Dangerous Goods handling.

YOU MUST HAVE:
- 1+ year of experience in receiving, warehouse operations, logistics, inventory control, distribution, or material handling.
- Experience using RF scanners, warehouse management systems, receiving systems, inventory systems, or related warehouse tools.
- Experience handling, receiving, identifying, labeling, documenting, staging, or supporting Dangerous Goods materials or shipments with ability to complete required Dangerous Goods training for assigned responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to read, interpret, and follow receiving instructions, product labels, shipment documentation, system information, and verbal direction accurately.
- Dependable, safety-minded, quality-focused, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment, including manual material handling and/or MHE operation when trained and authorized.
