About the opportunity
As a Commercial Trainer, you will play a critical role within QIAGEN's Commercial Excellence organization, enabling commercial success through world-class learning experiences. Acting as a trusted partner to Sales Leadership, Commercial Operations, Marketing, and Global Commercial Excellence teams, you will design and deliver impactful training programs that enhance product knowledge, sales capabilities, and customer engagement across the region.
In this role, you will translate QIAGEN's values and commercial strategy into practical learning solutions that drive performance, accelerate onboarding, support product launches, and reinforce sales excellence. Combining scientific expertise with modern sales methodologies, you will help commercial teams build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed in a dynamic life sciences and molecular diagnostics environment.
This position can be based remotely within the United States or onsite in Germantown, Maryland.
Your tasks include
- Design, develop, and deliver engaging commercial training programs covering product knowledge, sales methodologies (Consultative Selling Skills, Miller-Heiman, etc.), onboarding, product launches, and professional selling skills.
- Partner with Sales Leadership, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and Global Commercial Excellence teams to align training initiatives with business objectives and regional priorities.
- Facilitate impactful in-person and virtual training sessions, workshops, coaching programs, and reinforcement activities that drive adoption and measurable performance improvement.
- Work in close partnership with the Head of Global Commercial Training to define and implement the global training vision, strategy, priorities, and roadmap.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to create certifications, assessments, learning paths, and competency-based development programs.
- Measure training effectiveness through defined KPIs, participant feedback, and business performance metrics, continuously refining programs to maximize impact and ROI.
- Act as a strategic advisor to regional sales leadership by identifying capability gaps, recommending development solutions, and promoting a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
Your profile
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a scientific discipline such as Molecular Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or a related field; an additional qualification in Business, Sales, or Training is an advantage.
- More than 5 years experience in commercial training, sales enablement, sales leadership, or field sales within molecular diagnostics, life sciences, biotechnology, or healthcare.
- Strong scientific understanding and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling customer-focused value propositions and training content.
- Proven experience coaching individuals and teams on structured sales methodologies and consultative selling approaches.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, CRM platforms (preferably Salesforce.com), digital learning tools, and virtual training technologies. Knowledge/experience working with Agentic AI is a plus.
- Fluent English language skills; Spanish language skills are considered a strong advantage.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% domestically and internationally as required.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $110,000-130,000. Compensation will be based on the candidate’s experience, skills, geographic location, and other job-related factors. In addition to base salary, we offer a total compensation package that includes a commission plan, annual bonus, and generous benefits.
