Thermo Fisher Scientific offers an exciting opportunity for a Senior Finance Manager, FP&A to join the Pharma Services Group (PSG) and play a key role in driving business performance through strategic financial leadership and partnership. This highly visible role will partner closely with Commercial, Division/Group Finance, and Operational leaders to improve visibility into sales, revenue, pipeline, customer performance, and forecasting, while translating complex financial information into clear, cohesive narratives and actionable insights for senior leadership. The role will also lead and develop a team of three analysts, including an FLDP, providing an opportunity to build talent and strengthen the FP&A organization within a growing and dynamic business.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Performance & Business Partnership
- Serve as a primary partner to the commercial leadership (Sales, Marketing, Accounts, and Sales Operations) to support global sales of ~$8B
- Partner with divisional commercial finance to improve forecasting accuracy, pipeline visibility, sales productivity, and commercial execution
- Bridge communications and deliverables across commercial sales & finance team, with PSG Group finance team; calendar setting, leading internal preparation alignment sessions
- Influence across a highly matrixed global organization while building trusted partnerships with Commercial, FP&A, Marketing, Accounts, and Group to connect financial outcomes to commercial and operational drivers
- Partner with our Center of Excellence in Bulgaria to support key workstreams, establish repeatable processes, and create clear operating cadences that improve efficiency and consistency
- Support Strategic Accounts annual growth planning
- Partner with Group finance and Comm Operations with strategic projects, including assessing rebate strategy, special credit application and annual revenue requirements across PSG
Planning, Reporting & Process Excellence
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning processes across assigned commercial functions (MBR, QBR, AOP, STRAP)
- Establish repeatable executive level reporting across customer segments, such as Biotech regions, Selling teams, and Strategic clients
- Drive continuous improvement in forecasting, commercial reporting, financial governance, and management of operating rhythms. Maintain and enhance Power BI dashboards to provide real-time visibility into business and financial performance
- Develop standardized KPI reporting and executive dashboards supporting predictive commercial decision making
- Build commercial finance capabilities through stronger business acumen, financial modelling, storytelling, and analytical skills
People, Culture & Leadership
- Manage, develop and mentor a team of three direct reports (including FLDP), set clear goals, drive accountability and provide day to day support to champion a culture accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Support individual development plan and career progression discussions
- Coordinate and lead commercial transformation opportunities in conjunction with COE teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
- 8+ years of progressive finance or FP&A experience, preferably within a highly matrixed, multi-site organization
- Demonstrated experience partnering with and supporting senior leadership
- Proven ability to synthesize complex financial and business information into clear, executive-level recommendations
- Experience leading through ambiguity and driving organizational change
- Strong communication, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Self-motivated with a strong bias for action and demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive results
