About this role
The Training Specialist is responsible for building and fostering a learning culture that drives frontline associate engagement and supports a High-Performing Organization (HPO). Leveraging the principles of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), continuous improvement, and change management, this role develops and executes training strategies for both new hires and existing associates to enhance capability, productivity, and operational excellence.
What You Will Do
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of onboarding and training programs to ensure associates are prepared to perform their roles safely, effectively, and productively.
- Partner with site leaders and frontline associates to understand role requirements, identify training needs, and evaluate training effectiveness, including the development of role-specific training plans.
- Develop, evaluate, and continuously improve training content, courses, and learning materials.
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with required HR, Safety, Environmental, Health, and operational training programs.
- Support and coach site trainers to ensure training is delivered consistently and effectively, including trainee assessments and trainer evaluations.
- Create and manage training checklists, qualification programs, and certification processes that document training completion and employee readiness.
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team and TPM Training & People Development (TP&D) Pillar to identify capability gaps using TPM loss analysis and prioritize training initiatives.
- Partner with regional TPM TP&D teams and Training Specialists to share best practices, leverage existing training resources, and standardize approaches where appropriate.
- Complete TPM Workday learning modules and incorporate TPM, TP&D, and HPO principles into both short- and long-term training strategies.
- Support Human Resources with site-specific training initiatives, including New Hire Orientation, Workplace Respect, Code of Conduct, and other compliance-related programs.
- Coordinate and deliver training through a variety of learning methods, including instructor-led, computer-based, hands-on, classroom, workshop, simulator, and distance-learning formats.
- Partner with external training providers, as needed, to implement specialized training programs.
- Coordinate training logistics, including training facilities, equipment, computer access, and other infrastructure requirements.
- Develop assessments, quizzes, and evaluation tools to measure training effectiveness and knowledge retention.
- Work various shifts as needed to support training activities, with primary responsibilities occurring during day shift hours.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Applied Sciences, Learning & Development, Education, or a related field.
- 2+ years of Learning & Development, Training, Organizational Development, or related experience; OR 5+ years of manufacturing experience with demonstrated responsibility for employee training, onboarding, coaching, or workforce development.
- Experience utilizing Workday Learning or Workday training-related functionality.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing, facilitating, and delivering training programs in a manufacturing or operations environment.
- 2+ years of experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), High-Performance Work Systems (HPWS), or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Instructional design, curriculum development, or adult learning experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Proven coaching, mentoring, and employee development skills.
Annual or Hourly Compensation Range
The pay range for this position is $74,700.00 - $112,200.00. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
