Overview

As an Associate US LD Clearing & Deliveries Clerk within our Chicago Investment Banking Operations team, you will support the processing and clearing of futures activity across North and South American exchanges, as well as major foreign markets for US-domiciled clients. You will manage critical option expiry, exercise, assignment, abandonment, and delivery requirements while ensuring positions and regulatory reports are accurate and completed within strict timelines. By partnering with clients, trading desks, trade support, Compliance, exchanges, and external firms, you will help resolve issues that could affect daily processing and position reporting. Your attention to detail and focus on process improvement will strengthen operational controls, support regulatory readiness, and help the team deliver reliable service across the futures clearing business.

What You’ll Do

- Own the accurate, timely processing of US futures option expiries and deliveries, including in-the-money and out-of-the-money position reviews and exercise, assignment, and abandonment notifications
- Manage end-of-day production across Deutsche Bank systems, GMI/FIS, FISCD, third-party vendors, regulatory reporting agencies, and exchange applications, including statements, open-position reporting, and expiry and delivery notification
- Monitor foreign-market trades for US-domiciled clients and use evaluative judgment to identify breaks, validate positions, and protect the accuracy of regulatory and client reporting
- Research and resolve complex processing inquiries involving exchange or bank rules, system functionality, Last Trade Date, and First Notice Day requirements through root-cause analysis and timely escalation
- Partner with clients, Client Service, Trade Support, trading desks, balancing teams, Compliance, exchanges, and external firms to clear outstanding issues and provide documentation for internal audits and regulatory, financial, or exchange inquiries
- Complete and evidence daily control checklists within required timelines, support ad hoc reporting, and identify opportunities to automate processes, improve workflows, and maintain procedures using Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Visio

Skills You’ll Need

- Proven futures industry operations experience, including clearing, option expiration, delivery processing, and position reporting

- Working knowledge of Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Group and ICE US applications, regulations, clearing requirements, expiration processes, and delivery reporting; familiarity with MGE, BM&F, EUREX, ME, or other foreign markets

- Proficiency with GMI/FIS, FISCD, and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Access, and Visio

- Demonstrated ability to investigate operational issues, perform root-cause analysis, and identify opportunities for process automation and workflow improvement

- Demonstrated attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills, and ability to complete time-sensitive work within defined deadlines

- Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Chicago office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Chicago is $54,000 to $83,500. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
